I Promise

We walk onto the beach and it is empty. So it is just the boys and I. We walk through the sand put down a blanket a few meet from the wet sand. All most all the boys run into the water, I just sit down on the blanket and watch. Shawn, Hayes, and Cameron are still with me on the sand.

"Okay Sophia stand up." Shawn says.

I reluctantly stand up. He grabs the sleeve on my swim cover and pulls on it. Hayes hold my waist spinning my in a circle, so the cover is now off. Cameron takes it and throws it onto the blanket.

"We should go in the water." Shawn tells us.

"I don't know..." I say. 

"Sophia, it's okay the boys know about the scars, nobody else is here, and you are nowhere close to fat. So will you just come with us?" Hayes says to me.

"If you don't come, I'll spank you." Cameron threatens.

"Okay I'm going!" I quickly say, and start moving towards the water.

"Yay!" the three of them cheer, and I just shake my head.

Once I get closer to the water, Hayes grabs my hand and starts running in, pulling me with him. The boys are splashing around in the waves, throwing footballs, and just being silly. I am then pulled under water. I open my eyes quickly to see Hayes right in front of me. He points up, so we go to the surface of the water. He can stand but I have to swim a little bit, since I can't touch the bottom. Hayes then pulls me into him and adjusts me. My legs are wrapped around his waist and I am facing him. He gives me a smirk that makes me giggle.

"Is there something you wanted from me?" I ask playfully.

"Nope." Hayes laughs shaking his head.

I raise an eyebrow at him, and he just smiles at me.

"You look amazing though. Don't you think?" Hayes asks softly.

I just look him in the eyes saying nothing. I don't know what to say. The boys don't want me to lie to them, but if I say what they want to hear it would be a lie. So I just nod hoping Hayes would let it go.

"I know you're lying." Hayes says.

"Will you promise me something?" Hayes asks me.

"What?" I ask back.

"Promise me that you will try to get better. Not just put on some act for us, but try to see yourself as I see you." Hayes continues.

"I promise." I say looking into his eyes, our foreheads against each other.

I really do promise. I don't want to hurt Hayes, or Shawn, or any of the boys. So I'll do this, for them.

"So does that mean you will eat pizza when we have it later today, and whenever we have junk food. And that you will talk to one of the boys or I whenever you feel upset?" Hayes questions.

"Yes." I say to him

Hayes smiles and then lets me go. We swim over to the rest of the boys. We swim around and have fun. But real fun, with me having a real smile on my face. After the beach we did get pizza at a little pizza shop and I ate a slice. The boys looked really happy, especially Hayes and Shawn. We drive to the hotel in the van and I sit on Shawn's lap, and everyone is laughing, and joking around. I think I am ready to really try. I am going to keep my promise. I promise.
