"No."

"No?"

"Did I stutter?" You replied flatly, finally dropping your bat to the floor without a care.

"I don't think you really understand y/n, we need you on this." Nick said, almost pleadingly.

"Find someone else." You replied with almost no emotion. You grabbed a plate from your cabinet and got two pieces of pizza for yourself. Walking over to your couch, you turned on the tv without giving Fury even a second glance. As you began to eat your dinner, he made his way over to you and turned the tv off. "Hey asshole! I was watching that!" You yelled at him as he stood in front of the now blackened screen.

"Y/n..." Nick paused trying to get your attention, when it didn't work he continued on, "we found your father, he's here." Finally, you looked up at Nick. You hadn't thought about your father in years, or even your uncle for that matter. You figured they were never coming back for you. "He took the tesseract, he plans to start a war between worlds, he means to rule this planet and will destroy anyone in his way." He explained.

You glanced into his mind to see if he was lying, just trying to get you to join his organization for his own personal gain as Hydra did, your search came back empty handed. He was telling you the truth. "Does he know I'm still alive?" You asked, slightly afraid of the answer.

"We aren't sure, that's why we need you to come with us."

"Us?" Just as the question left your lips, another man appeared out of the shadows. Your eyes widened and you began to look around the room to see if more people would show up. "What the fuck?" You mumbled to yourself.

"Agent Coulson ma'am." The new man spoke, he noticed you were still searching for more agents, "it's alright y/n, it's just us. But we need to move now, pack whatever you need for the next couple weeks just to be safe." He told you, he glanced over to the pizza in the kitchen and looked back at you.

"Help yourself, give me fifteen minutes." You said, laughing and shaking your head. The boys went to the kitchen, and you went to your room to begin packing your necessities. As you out the last of your clothes in your duffle bag your cellphone began to ring, you didn't recognize the number but decided to answer anyway. "Hello?"

"Hey, coffee girl!"

You smiled to yourself, you almost forgot you had told Steve to call you. "Hey Steve, how's your night going?" You asked as you zipped up your final bag.

"It's alright, I wanted to let you know I might not be around for a bit. I have to leave for a little while, shouldn't be longer than a week. But maybe when I get back we can get dinner somewhere? My treat?"

Your smile grew, was Steve really asking you out on a date? You weren't complaining though, it might be nice, after all you were eighty two now, it was about time to start meeting people. "It's alright, I'm actually heading out of town tonight as well. I'll be back in two weeks tops, haven't decided yet. But I'd love to get dinner with you when I get back, thank you." You answered.

"Oh wow, how convenient! We'll have fun on your vacation! Um, is it alright if I call you if I have time? I mean you can say n-"

"Of course Steve." You laughed at his nervousness.

"Alright coffee girl." You could tell he was smiling now as well. "So I'll see you when you get back?" He asked hopefully.

"Just tell me when and where." You replied sweetly.

"How about the diner on sixth? Around seven? Maybe the day you come back?"
