"She took the file!" Pierce shouted at one of the other agents. "Where is she? Did she leave already?" He asked angrily.
"Y/n and Captain Rogers already left. I don't understand, what was so important about that file?" The agent asked.
"Where is her office?" Pierce asked urgently, ignoring the agents question.
"Room B310, but like I said she's already left. Everything is locked up, you can't get in there." The agent replied.
"I'm the one who gave her the office in the first place, believe me, I have clearance." Pierce shot back at the agent as he left to go break into your office. He knew you found the device he placed on your uniform, because as soon as you entered that elevator he lost all signal on you. Once he got in he wasn't exactly sure where to look, until he noticed the mess of papers on your desk. He searched through all of them and came up empty. He threw the papers on the desk in a fit of rage and some ended up falling on the floor. He figured he'd pick them up so you wouldn't suspect someone had been in here, if he didn't find anything then he wasn't going to rise more suspicion with you then he already had. When he reached down to pick them up he noticed something shining in the light under your desk. He grabbed it and realized it was a key, he smirked and opened all your drawers, searching the bottom of them until he found which one the key went to.
Just as had he expected, you hid it in a secret compartment, he unlocked it and looked over the paper as an evil smirk grew on his face. He knew you read it and he knew he already got inside your head, that it was only a matter of time before he could bring you down and you would be back in Hydra's clutches, only this time there would be no escape. "You were right y/n, we will see each other again. Very soon even."
He cleaned up everything and made his way back to his office. Once he had a conversation with Nick about putting project insight on hold, he knew it was time to start his plan. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone as he punched in an unknown number. When the man on the other end answered, Pierce only needed to say one sentence for all hell to break lose. "Prepare the asset, he has a new mission."

After you and Steve talked in your office, the two of you decided you'd leave for the rest of the day. You hopped on his bike and rode with him to the Smithsonian to visit his exhibit. The two of you would do this every now and then to ease your minds a bit. Steve would always tell you about his stories of what happened during the war, though they never changed, you never got tired of hearing them. There was always one exhibit the two of you would spend extra time at, and that was Bucky's. Steve didn't know you stayed and read over every line over and over again because you knew Buck, he assumed it was just to comfort him while he read about his lost friend.
After the Smithsonian, the two of you went to go visit Peggy, something the two of you tried to do every few weeks once Steve found out she was still alive. It warmed your heart to see her smile every time she saw Steve, but it broke your heart when you remembered the condition she was in. Every time she saw him was like the first time, because in her mind, it really was the first time. You never said much during the visits, you didn't know Peggy and she wouldn't remember you after each visit anyway, it was just easier to let the two of them spend their time together. Once the two of you finished there you got on his bike ready to leave, only Steve stood there silently for a moment looking at the buildings around the area.
"Something wrong Steve?" You asked him softly.
"Do you mind if we make another stop before we go home?" He asked you almost nervously.
"Not at all, where are we headed?" You asked him as you moved back on the seat of his bike so he could get on.
"I made a friend today, I thought it might be a good idea if we pay him a visit." He told you. When you nodded your head and held onto him he took that as his signal to get going.
