You listened to Steve's speech as you walked through the halls of Shield in disguise. Your mission was to go to the control room and try to stop the launch from there while Steve and Sam went aboard the hellicarriers just in case someone beat you to it. As you entered the room you noticed a very familiar face, Kate. You walked a bit closer to her as she listened intently to what Steve was saying over the intercom, you watched as she examined everyone in the room exactly as you did, you knew she couldn't be on Hydra's side when she gasped slightly when she heard Steve mention that they shot Fury. Once you were beside her you looked at the name at her desk, you leaned a bit closer to her, "I thought your name was Kate?" You whispered.
She looked over in surprise, she didn't know who you were until you had your eyes glow just long enough for her to realize it was you. "Y/n? I thought we lost you." She whispered back in disbelief.
"Hydra can't get rid of me that easily." You whispered back as you directed your eyes to her computer. She took the hint and moved aside so you could try to stop the launch.
"Who do I need to look out for in the room?" She whispered as she made herself look like she was doing paperwork beside you.
"The two guards in the corner are the are the only minds that are in favor of the launch, this room has more good guys then bad ones." You whispered as you attempted to hack into the system, failing for the third time. "I like Sharon better than Kate." you told her as you quietly sighed in frustration.
"Yeah well, it was the first thing I..." She trailed off as she noticed Rumlow enter the room. She gave your hand a light tap to silently tell you to stop what you were doing or you'd be killed. You looked to her out of the corner of you eye and you noticed her head slightly nod to him, when you looked to your left you saw him come up from behind one of the other agents. He hadn't noticed you and that was exactly what you needed.
"Preamp the launch sequence, send those ships up now." Rumlow told him. When the agent hesitated he became angry. "Is there a problem?" The agent stuttered but didn't answer. "Is there a problem?" Rumlow yelled once again.
I'm not gonna launch those ships, captains orders." The agent told him.
As soon as he said that, Rumlow pulled his gun out and aimed it at the agent. "Move away from your station!" He ordered.
Sharon quickly took action and aimed her gun at Rumlow, "like he said, captains orders." She told him confidently.
"You picked the wrong side agent!" Rumlow yelled.
"Depends on where your standing." Sharon smirked as she told this to Rumlow. When she said that, you turned back to your true self.
Rumlow's eyes widened when he saw you, eyes already glowing and ready to attack. "Did you miss me?" You smirked. He only brought the gun closer to the agents head while everyone else had their guns aimed at each other. "Drop it Rumlow, you're outnumbered." You told him as you quietly shielded the agent just in case the trigger was pulled for any reason.
Rumlow dropped his gun, only to grab a knife from his belt and cut Sharon's arm. When she fell from the pain, she also kicked the other agents chair out from under him. The bullet Rumlow shot at him bounced off of your shield and hit his arm. You smirked when you heard him scream in pain until he started shooting at you. You quickly dodged all his bullets and managed to grab his gun from him. You used your magic to throw him across the room and went up to look at the computer, you were to late. The launch was starting and Rumlow had made his escape once you turned around. "Steve! Sam! I couldn't stop the launch, you guys need to get on those carriers now!" You told them urgently through your coms.
"Copy that y/n." The two of them replied.
"Y/n? What do you need me to do?" Sharon asked urgently as she tried to hide her cut.
