Call In The Asset

"First rule of going on the run is walk, don't run." Natasha told Steve in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Seriously Steve? You can fight aliens, but you can't be discreet?" You asked as you placed his arm around you so he'd have to slow his pace down.

"I've never done this before." He told you and Nat nervously.

"But you can lie on five enlistment forms in the forties perfectly fine?" You questioned

"Shut up you two, we're here." Natasha told the both of you as you entered the Apple Store. The three of you walked over to a computer and got ready for whatever you were about to see. "We have about eight minutes until Shield will find out where we are starting, now." Once she plugged in the flash drive, the countdown began.

"Sir, we have a location on them." Rumlow told Pierce as he bagan to put on his gear quickly.

"Where?" Pierce asked urgently.

"They're at the mall, odds are they're trying to go under cover." Rumlow explained.

"Did you figure that out all on your own?" Pierce snickered sarcastically. Rumlow stayed quiet, he knew better than to try and fight back. "I want her back here, do you understand that? She may have escaped Hydra all those years ago, but she isn't escaping again. The others can die, but I need her. Do you understand?" Pierce asked him.

"Understood sir." Rumlow replied.

"Good, now go fetch me my prize." Pierce smirked.

"You said nine minutes Nat, come on." Steve told her nervously.

"Relax Steve, it's only been three." She smirked.

You weren't sure what came over you, but you began to feel faint. You stumbled a bit closer to Steve only to have him catch you before you fell to his feet. "Y/n, what's wrong?" He asked concerned.

"I don't know." You told him through shaky breaths. You looked down at your left wrist that still had the device on it and saw it was now discolored and throbbing. Steve noticed this and looked at your wrist as well and decided to see if your neck looked the same, when he checked he noticed it didn't quite look that bad, but it wasn't far behind. "These things are more powerful than I remember." You told as your breathing started to become slightly uneven.

"Natasha, I don't think we're gonna have that much time left, we need to get these off her now." Steve whispered to her.

Natasha stopped what she was doing for a moment so she could give you a quick look, she ended up having to do a double take to make sure what she was seeing was real, "shit." She whispered. She quickly turned back and ended up finding the location the three of you needed to be. "Steve, it's a place in New Jersey." She whispered to him. He quickly looked over it and saw the location, he clenched his jaw at the thought of where the three of you were headed. "Do you know it?" She asked as she went to reach for your hand so she could help guide you out of the store.

"I used to. Now come on, we gotta get her out of here and get these off of her." Steve told her urgently as the three of you walked out. When Steve looked around he saw a familiar face that he didn't want to see, Rumlow. "Nat they found us, now what?" He asked her almost panicked.

While she was busy looking around you noticed there was a stairwell straight ahead, if the three of you could make it past the door then you could teleport to the car you stole without raising any suspicious. "Go straight ahead, I'll take care of the rest." You told them. They were reluctant to let you do anything until they looked at the condition you were in, but quickly made there way over there. As soon as they closed the door behind them you grabbed their hands and teleported the three of you to the car. You fought through the pain, you knew it needed to be done so all of you could get out fast, which is exactly what you did.
