36 - Get What you Deserve

"It has to be because of that Bianca girl. She's getting to her head and that snake will be sorry when reality slaps her in the face"

"Maybe next time she'll think twice before she does something she shouldn't do"

No matter how much I feel guilty, nothing can reverse what I did. And I wouldn't take it back if I could.

You know what. I changed my mind. I need you to do something for me now that I have done something for you.

××Chaz POV ××

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I'm your father. Why wouldn't I be here." He says.

Lord knows I didn't ever want to see this man's face again. I was scared for my life. I figured if I wasn't dead already he was going to beat me to death.

"Look. You're still my daughter and I'm not here to hurt you."

"You need to leave."

"I'm sorry I hurt you in the past. I really am. I've been getting better and I want you to come back and live at home.. Where your mom and I raised you. Where I can protect you. Look at you, you need a man's protection"

"I don't need a man's anything." I object.

"You need a father's protection."

"What I need is protection from my father. Now please leave before I call in the doctors" I warn him.

"Look Chasity I'm not here to hurt you"

"I don't want you here at all. If I were still at home with you I'd still be in the same place but I'd be here because of you."

There was a knock on the door and then it opened.

There entered Jamie.

I was glad it was her and not Lonnie, even though Lonnie knows about my father and what he's done to me before. But right now I'm not sure if she would beat up my father or just beat on me some more.

I was just glad to see anybody but this man in my room.

He walks over to her and actually introduced himself. As if he was even good enough to meet any of my friends.

He reaches out his hand for a handshake.

"Hi. I'm Chasity's da-"

"Jamie, that's my father and he was just leaving." I say, cutting him off.

"Well it was nice meeting you. I'll be off to the house anyways, I have some cleaning to do"

"Um. Okay." Jamie responds awkwardly.

"Get well soon sweetheart. I'm just a call away if you need anything."

Finally he leaves.

"I'm really sorry man. It's partially my fault why you're in here. I should've stopped -" She tries to apologize

I cut her off. "Don't apologize. It's not your fault. You didn't even touch me. I did this to myself. I put myself here."

"Now we both know you didn't put yourself in this hospital"

"I deserved to be put in here anyways." I say.

I try to sit up and fix myself but the side of my chest hurts so much. I groan in agony and just stay where I am.

The doctor walks in.

"Hello Ms Vega. I'm here with your results. Would you like me to tell you them now or would you like to be alone?" He asks.

"You can just say it." I say.

"Well.. you did lose a lot of blood but we stopped all the bleeding in enough time for you to survive.  Also, we did some tests. You seem to have low iron so we would recommend you drink lots of water and take iron pills which we can prescribe to you. We also saw that you have a fractured bone in your rib cage. So you may have trouble moving around a lot. It isn't a big fracture but it is still visible and may have the ability to limit your mobility. You will need a wheelchair for mobility until it heals. Other than that all your minor bruises aren't life threatening they just need their respective times to heal" He informs me.

"Alright Thank you." I say.

"You will be given pain medication and specific vitamins that will help the healing process. Beyond that, you're able to go home if you wish. The less you move the easier and quicker the healing process. So no physical activities like sports or anything. Only simple things, nothing too strenuous."

"You telling me I can't play ball?" I say.

"That would be too much for your body to handle. You can return to it after your body heals itself after around 2 months."

"2 months?!"

"That's estimated time period." He answers.

"All right."

"I'm sorry for your injury but in due time you will heal and you will be back on your feet and you can move as much as you want."

I couldn't reply I was too sad from the results.

"Thanks doc." Jamie says

He smiles leaves the room.

Jamie tries to apologize to me. "I'm really sorry man"

"I did this to myself. I deserve this."

"Stop saying that man. You don't deserve this." She says.

"I was bound to be here anyways. I was gonna end up in this bed regardless."

"What do you mean, "regardless"?" She asks

"My father" I answer. "He was abusive."

"That man that was in here earlier?" She asks.

"What's funny is that Lonnie knows. One day she came over and saw me beat up."

"When? Where was I?" She questions.

"It was the night he basically kicked me out. That's why I was staying with Lonnie for a little while"

"So she -"

"Saved my life. Yeah." I say cutting her off.

"Wow." She says

"I can understand why she was so mad. She did a lot for me then I go around and do this to her."

"You didn't do anything to her which is exactly the point."

"It doesn't matter. I still did wrong by her." I say

"I just can't seem to forget the things she said to me.." I remember them clearly. "I really messed up this time man." I continue.

"The person I liked actually liked me back and now all my chances are gone.. I lost her."

"Lost who? Bianca?"

"No Lonnie."
