Jay POV

Last night was a little rough. I kept waking up during the night out of my sleep so I woke up still tired. A lot was still on my mind so I couldn't really focus on dreaming. Maybe it was guilt that kept me awake.

Thankfully there was no school so I had time to attempt to relax and gather my mental. I was up before the sun so that meant today was gonna be a long day.

As per usual, the first thing I did was grab my phone and check my notifications.

I unlock my phone only to be reminded of all the missed calls and text messages I have from from Morgan. I take a deep breath in and exhale preparing my mental for whatever may be in these messages.

9:07 pm [ how was practice baby?]
9:14 pm [Baby, you home yet?]
9:22 pm [Baby, you okay? ]
9:23 pm Missed call
9:24 pm Missed call
9:25 pm [Babe?]
9:25 pm [Text me when you see this]
9:28 pm [I can only think something bad happened if you're not responding. I really hope you're ok]
9:30 pm [You're really scaring me. I can't sleep not knowing if you're okay]
9:32 pm [Hello?]
10:30 pm [I'm trying to be patient, but I'm too worried to stay calm. Please text me back]
10:40 pm Missed call
10:45 pm [I don't know if this means you're still in practice or you're just busy. Your phone rings when I call so it isn't dead. I just hope you're ok. I can barely think straight. Please just call me when you see this.]
10:55 pm [I'm going to pray and hope you get home safe.]
11:07 pm [Maybe you just fell asleep and were too tired to respond at this point. I love you Jamie. Please text me when you see this. I just want to know that you're safe.]

At this point, I don't even know how to respond. To tell the truth would end in something bad, but to lie isn't better because I wouldn't want her to lie to me.

There's no way I can tell her the full truth. I know Morgan and I know how extra she can be. She'd show up at my doorstep and make a huge scene and that's not what I need today.

I take some time to plan out what I'm gonna say to her while I go to the kitchen to prepare myself some breakfast.

Returning back to my room with a plate of turkey bacon and some eggos waffles, I sit down on my bed anticipating responding to her texts. I unlock my phone then open her messages, and began typing.

*knock, knock, knock*

My body froze from the sound of knocking on my window. The knocks weren't loud but they definitely were sudden.

Who could that be at this time of day?

I walk over cautiously hoping that it's not someone attempting to murder me. I pull down a blind to reveal my girlfriend standing outside my window.

Aw shit.

I let go of the blind so quick. This is no where what I expected. Now I had to think of a plan quick. I was planning on typing everything, but now I actually have to talk.

Alright Jamie. Time to be a big girl, just get it over with. She saw you see her see you see her, so she knows you're awake. She didn't look angry now, but you know what she came for.

What am I thinking? My room might be big but the walls are not thick.

I grab my phone to text her.

Baby I know you're worried, but it's 6 in the morning and my mom is still asleep. 6:04 am

She replies in less than a minute.
