Jay POV
I was done getting dressed so I grabbed my keys and headed over to Lonnie's place.
When I arrived at her house there were a lot of cars here. Dang. I forgot this girl is Columbian. They have big families yo.
I knocked on the door and it was Lonnie.
"Yoooo!!!!!!"
"I heard there was a party here" I joked.
We laughed. I noticed she was dressed unlike her normal self then I remembered about how she said her mom is. I respect her decisions and I still love her the same.
"Where's mom and dad?"
"Dad is on the grill and mom is outside talking to everybody. "
"Alright. Take me to the food. I'm a fattie."
"I know bro. I gotchu."
She took me outside and I met a few of her family members on the way. Like her uncles, cousins, and aunts. We got to the grill and I greeted her dad.
"Hey Jamie. How are you?"
"I'm good sir. Just hungry."
"In this family no one stays hungry."
I smiled. "Just give me a minute and the meats will be ready. There's also food on the table so you can get a little helper serving over there."
"Thanks dad" Lonnie and I said simultaneously. We did as told.
"Hey where's Chaz?" She asked me.
"I don't know. I figured she must've called or text you by now."
"Man. My phone is on the charger in my room. I'll go check up on her."
"Alright man." She left and went inside. I found a seat at a table after I grabbed a plate of food.
Lonnie POV
Usually Chaz isn't the late one. She's actually the early bird of us three so it was kind of off for her to not be here. I decided to go back to my room and call her. As I was walking upstairs I saw Morgan coming downstairs.
"Hello sleepy head. Finally arrived to the party."
"That was a wonderful nap. Now I'm hungry."
"You're a bear. You hibernate then when you wake you eat"
"You love me though." She said as she walked down the stairs.
"Yeah. Yeah. "
I walked through my room door and over to my phone to call Chaz. I dialed her number and the phone rang. It stopped ringing.
Me- Hello?
Chaz- Sniffles*
Me- Chaz what's going on?
Chaz- Nothing. I'm fine.
Me- You sure? You don't sound like it.
Chaz- Maybe your phone connection is bad.
Me- Maybe.. You need me to come pick you up?
Chaz- Nah. I don't know if I can come.
Me- What happened?
Chaz- Sniffles* Nothing.
Me- Man. You don't sound good you sure you okay?
Chaz- *Sniffles ......
Me- Chaz? Did something happen?
Chaz- (still couldn't answer)
Me- I'll be right over don't worry.
I hung up the phone, grabbed my keys and text Morgan and Jay telling them both I was leaving and to cover for me if anyone asked where I was.
I knocked on her door and there was no answer. No cars in the driveway so I'm guessing she was home alone. So I just try to open the door and sadly but surprisingly the door was unlocked. That's not safe but I'm focused on Chaz right now. She never acted so strange. I'm actually scared for her.
I walked into her house and went straight to her room and see if she was there. The smell of alcohol and cigarettes just pervaded my nostrils. There were no lights on, there was only the peeps of sunlight coming from the glass door.
I turned the corner to the hallway and found Chaz sitting on the ground with her head down in her arms. I just sat down next to her I didn't know what to do for her, I've never seen Chaz cry. I know she cries, her mom died and she has this day where she visits her grave. I know I would be crying for something like that. It's just I've never witnessed it. Now that I am, it just breaks my heart.
"Chaz?"
She looked up at me and it just destroyed me internally. Her eyes were red, there were tear streaks on her face, and I didn't know what to do so I had to think fast.
