I woke up, panting heavily with sweat on my face. I looked around my room to see if it was real, it was. I then lay back in my bed keeping my eyes open. I was too scared to go back to sleep and see the frightening faces in my dreams.
"Calm down Emma," I said to myself. "You're awake and healthy now. There's no need to worry, you are safe in Air, no human will hurt you." I soon relaxed and my breathing was evener. I checked the time, it was 3 am in the morning.
"Oh, 5 hours of sleep," I muttered to no one. I started to feel sleepy, but I couldn't fall asleep yet. I had to do something first. I staggered out of bed and slowly loped to my window and opened them. I climbed onto the edge and stood there while inhaling the fresh sweet air, and I fell.
"WHOOOO HOOOO!" I screamed in delight. As I fell, I saw my house on a cloud moving away from me. I soon lost sight of it and I saw the border of Air.
I soon saw the guards that kept guard of the boundaries of Air and Earth. Before they could see me, I spread out my arms and legs and I shot straight up into the air. I felt the cool air surrounding my whole body, giving me shivers down my back. I felt free and safe being in the air. I had no worries.....
"STOP FLYING AND PUT YOUR HANDS UP HIGH WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!" A voice cries out. I froze and turned with my hands in the air.
"STATE YOUR NAME MISS." He ordered. The guard was a tall man with a bushy mustache and he did not look happy.
"Rosalina Hungar!" I lied.
"Well Miss Hungar, I'm sure you know the rules of Air?" He questioned.
"Yes, I'm so sorry for flying bu-"
"No buts!" he said cutting me off. "This violates the rules! You are putting us all at risk if you fly at night like this. This behavior will result in having a human see you at night! You know that planes frequently travel at night and if they see you, our society will be deeply endangered!" He explained.
Ugh. Not this speech. I heard this all the times. My parents would remind me day and night not to fly in broad daylight and during the mysterious night. But was that my fault? I love to fly. "Anyway, I'm so sorry but I must have you arrested and sent to the prison until your parents can pick you up." He stated.
"WHAT! NO! YOU CAN'T SEND ME TO JAIL!" I yelled in disbelief. "Actually I can. Unless the orders are changed from the higher-ups, which I highly doubt, I will have to arrest you." He said losing patience.
"WAIT," I screamed as he flew towards me with handcuffs. He stopped, staring at me with confusion. Before he could move again, I took a deep breath and spoke with my most confident voice.
"I am Princess Emma Lissa Sabina Fairthorn! As the next ruler of this kingdom, I command you to disobey your orders and not escort me to the prison! Instead, come with me to the palace!"
The moon happened to shine in our direction at that time. The light illuminated my features, giving him the proof to show I was who I said I was. He just stared with his mouth in the shape of an O. He soon bowed and put the handcuffs away.
He reintroduced himself. " I'm so sorry Princess Emma, I didn't realize it was you. My name is Officer Boman. Let's head off to the palace Your Highness."
"Thank you," I said. "Let us fly back to my home."
