They charged each other at the same time. There was then a blur as the two girls fought one another and tried to keep up the speed of their opponent. They were so fast that I couldn't see their movements clearly. Once in a while, you could see the light of Ellia's ring. She had already changed her weapons about six times. She used to have a different sword, spear, a bow and arrow like mine but not as pink, twin guns, an unbreakable shield, and now she had a deadly grim reaper scythe. I could sort of make out the outline of her weapon and I could see Emily. Her sword would occasionally make a whistling sound as it cut through the air sometimes. We all heard the bang of their weapons fighting against each other. The students and I were sitting for a good five minutes before things finally got interesting.
Ellia managed to push Emily back and slam her against the wall. Emily's hand grazed her sword during the struggle and she was bleeding. It wasn't a deep wound but for some apparent reason, the look in her eyes changed. Her eyes seemed to reveal a mental battle between the good and evil inside of her. Soon it looked like the darkness had won. The sight of her face was consumed by shadows of her past and she suddenly wasn't the confused, yet sweet girl that flipped me. Emily Godsworth was a demon.
I called a warning to Ellia but it was too late. Emily ran across the room like a flash of lightning with her sword out. It still had her blood on it. Ellia's ring flashed and she was holding the exact same sword as Emily, but it was no use. Just because you can match the same weapon as someone doesn't mean you can match the same skill. Emily clearly knew the tricks of her sword while Ellia struggled a bit. At one point, Emily feinted and Ellia went for it. If it wasn't for Ellia's quick reflexes, her whole arm would have been cut off. Instead, she made a light cut at Ellia's shoulder. There was definitely something wrong. Even Coach Leal could see that too.
"HEY GODSWORTH! STOP IT THIS INSTANT!" Coach Leal shouted but he only seemed to increase the bloodlust in her expression. Emily's attacks were getting more deadly and violent by the second. Ellia hastily exchanged her sword for a shield and blocked Emily's attacks.
I let out a huge breath that I didn't know I was holding. Finally, Ellia had some sort of an advantage in the fight. However, she wasn't so lucky. Emily had taken the butt of her sword and knocked her shield across the gymnasium. It had hit Sophie in the face. If it wasn't for the situation right now, I would be laughing out loud. Ellia's ring had also fallen off and was five feet away from her. Oh, this wasn't good. Her ring was too far away to reach and Emily was preparing to attack the final blow. The best she could do was put her hands up in front of her to block the worst of it. In those small moments, I flew between them as fast as I can. Before the sword reached Ellia, I put my hand up.
The impact of the sword landed on my bare palm and my legs wobbled at the force. I bit my tongue at the pain. Her sword was in my right hand. Deep. Blood started dripping down my hand and the room was silent except for the drops of blood smashing into the clean white floor.
"Stop Emily. This isn't you. Snap out of it." I whispered. She said nothing but the look in her eyes got worse. Her sword pushed even more in and I let out a cry of pain. No one came to help me. Ellia was just staring at this exchange and sitting right behind me as if I was her shield. My loyal bodyguard was gone and everyone else was too shocked to do anything. Jeez, thanks, guys...
I tried again. "Emily wake up. Your parents didn't teach you to do this, right?" Her eyes glimmered with her usual self but it soon disappeared. I started feeling woozy from the blood loss but I kept on going.
"Serena and Sorin Godsworth loved you too much for you to hurt your friend Emily. Don't do this to yourself and your parents. Break out of this and fight your way back to us. The past isn't the future. You make your own fate. Please come back to us." Her mind waged a mental war and she broke out of her daze. You could see the mirror of darkness in her eyes shattering into a million pieces. She dropped her sword and fell to the ground with tears in her eyes. My hand felt instant relief from the weight of her sword gone. I also fell on my knees from the blood loss and to see how Emily was doing. She had started crying and her hands were covering her face.
