I woke up with a terrible pounding in my head. I groaned as I attempted to sit up and block out the sun shining through the curtains. After a deep thought, I stared at the morning sky trying to figure out what was wrong with this scenario.

"WAIT, WHEN WAS IT MORNING?!" I asked to no one in particular.

"Ahhhhhh the idiot finally wakes up...." says a strangely annoying, yet strangely familiar voice. I looked on my right to see Serena Celestia, a dear friend.

She had long, wavy, brown hair and big, bright, blue eyes. She was wearing a green jacket that revealed a white cotton shirt under. There were jet black leggings on her legs. Serena also had stylish, black leather boots on. There was an impish smile on her face as she waited for my reaction.

"Yeah! You should've seen the look on your face when you blacked out! It was hilarious!!" snickered a girl on my left. She had straight brown hair like Serena, but a shade lighter. It was even so long that it went down to her mid back. Some of her bangs were in her face and she brushed a few of them behind her ear. Her eyes were the same vibrant color as a hazelnut. She was wearing a purple wool sweater and the same leggings as Serena. On her feet were these adorable purple and black shoes. I despise the color purple, but even I had to admit that the shoes looked awesome. The girl on my left was Ellia Lightfeather.

I glared at the two of them. "Well, at least I don't go around tackling people out for fun!" I cried. I moaned at the sudden throbbing pain in my head from yelling at them. They both had sympathy in their eyes and Ellia handed me painkillers and a glass of water. After downing the medication, I felt extremely better so I asked, "Where is Emily?"

"Down in Mannerism Class. They couldn't fit it in her schedule after school, so the guidance counselor put it in the morning." Serena replied.

"Dang it, I wanted to introduce myself properly," I said with disappointment.

"Chill Emma, you'll get your chance. Besides she sai-" Ellia reassured me, but getting rudely interrupted by Serena.

"SHIT," cussed Serena. "Damn it we're late for class." Ellia and I stood up in alarm.

"NO WAY! Class starts at 8 am." I exclaimed. Serena showed us her watch. 7:52am.

"CRAP! WE ARE LATE!" Ellia exclaimed.

"Guys, watch your language. You know I don't like you guys swearing all the time." I said.

Serena shot me a glare. "We don't have time for this Emma. We have Fighting Class first period and Coach Leal doesn't tolerate lateness." countered Serena. I started changing into some stretchy fitness clothes I packed before. I took off my tiara so it wouldn't get dented.

I shrugged and said, "It can't be that bad."

"Oh, it is that bad. Headmistress Kiera's son was late for Fighting and he got suspended for 2 days," said Ellia. My eyes widen so much that it was a wonder they didn't fall out.

"Well then move it guys! I can't be punished on my first day!!" I urged them, wanting my friends to pick up the pace.

"Ok, ok Emma, we're almost ready," said Serena grabbing some water bottles and weapons. She handed me my bow and magical arrows. She already had her sword sheathed. Ellia had her ruby ring on. We rushed out our room praying that class would start a bit late.

8 minutes later we were in the gym and standing in a straight line awaiting the orders of Coach Leal. "Now listen up kids!" screamed Coach, "Today we will be practicing attack and defense moves. You will also be using your weapons for this activity." This guy really meant business. I could see that everyone was paying close attention. There was 12 of us here. I didn't know most of them, but there was Serena, Ellia, Emily, this really hot dude who was apparently the Headmistress's son, this preppy girl who was obsessed with her nails and a mega drama queen. When we got here, she was having a heated conversation with Coach Leal about makeup and sweat. There was these two other girls who flocked her, Seiro, these 3 dudes who had humongous muscles and 6 pack abs, and me.
