The dog's eyes suddenly snapped onto me. It growled, almost seeming protective of the Airian he had pinned under him. At least, I think the dog was a guy. He put his humongous paw on Serena's face, cutting off her air. As much as I wanted to stop and laugh at the sight in front of me, I had to help Ellia save Serena before she got choked to death by the paw of a dog. Yep, just an average day.

However, help came sooner than I thought. Emily popped up in the doorway, taking in the situation in front of her. She stared at the dog, who was looking at her curiously. What happened next was totally unexpected.

Emily started talking in a language I didn't recognize. Ellia had the same dumbfounded look as me. As for Serena, well let's just say it wasn't possible for us to tell if she was confused too or dead from the lack of air.

The dog barked back at Emily and hesitantly lifted his paw from Serena's now dirty face. Emily spoke some more gibberish before disappearing and coming back with a green, squeaky ball. Seriously, I don't know where she gets these stuff.

He wagged his tail and gladly ran over to Emily. She talked again, which made the dog sit and look at her adoringly. The corners of her mouth tugged up a bit, illuminating her emo facial features. She was relaxed, not as tense and closed up. Serena groaned, reminding us of her presence. The dog turned and faced us, happily trotting over to Serena. He began licking her face, not caring about her protests.

"EMILY! SOMEONE! GET THIS SALIVA INFECTED CREATURE OFF OF ME!"

Emily started to speak again. It seemed like she was commanding the dog to come over to her. He complied and went back to his spot under Emily's small arms. Ellia found a tissue box on Rodas' desk and offered it to Serena. She gladly accepted and started to wipe all the spit off of her.

"Why do I always get hit by saliva and mud..." She grumbled, taking another tissue from Ellia, who stood beside her, awaiting her call for a tissue. I, on the other hand, wanted answers from Emily.

"HOLY COW! WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" Ok. Maybe I really wanted to know.

"On my time on Earth," she said, strangely sounding wise while stroking the dog's fur. "I learned to communicate with animals." Cool. Did humans know how to communicate with animals? Her relaxed faced morphed back into her expressionless one. "Besides, what are you three doing here?"

I put my hands up and took a step away from Ellia and Serena. "Whoa. I had nothing to do with this. I was just trying to stop them." I couldn't tell if Emily believed me or not, but I had a feeling she didn't. Emily let it go, changing the subject.

"Well, I'm going to take Conway back to Rodas." She gave us a pointed look like a disapproving mother. She pulled it off, despite the age and height difference. "I expect to see all of you out of his study when I return."

"Conway?" I asked. Emily pointed to a collar hidden under his dark fur. As I examined it, I could see what Emily's observing eyes caught before. The words Conway were engraved in the little, circular and gold tag. Emily started leaving, most likely heading towards the kitchen. I realized something as her retreating figure left the study.

"Wait! Emily! Don't tell Rodas we're in he-" She slammed the door, effectively cutting off my words. "Great..." I muttered. "We're young to get in trouble..."

Ellia scoffed. I completely forgot about them. "Wouldn't be the first time."

She was right. This was nothing compared to the disasters we've created in the past. "Ugh. I give up." Serena piped up, surrounded by wet tissues. "I'm taking a bath. Conway's spit is too clingy and only a warm bath can get this-" She motioned at the transparent liquid on her. "-off of me." Serena got up, and flung the door open, leaving a trail of spit behind.
