When the thought hit me, I froze. I couldn't move at all. It wasn't like I could anyway. Hudson leaned forward and kissed my cheek. "Have fun, Emma," he whispered.

I felt a shudder run through my body. From all this shock, there wasn't any resistance as a small smile appeared on my face. A large intake of breath shook me out of my haze. I felt myself turning towards Rodas as Hudson walked out, closing the door behind him.

We didn't speak. Natalie was waiting for him to make the first move. His fists were clenched and he stared at the ground, his shoulders slumping. After a long pause, he spoke. "What the hell was that?"

I shrugged. "What do you mean, Ro?"

He narrowed his eyes at me. I saw the anger in them but I also saw the pain. "You know what I mean Emma. Is this a joke to you?"

I flinched inside. Stop it. I thought.

Sorry Emma, but you made your choice. Now it's time to pay for it. Natalie replied.

My stare turned into a glare. "Of course it isn't. Why would I make a joke of out this?"

He looked furious. "Because you're still lying to Hudson. You're giving the guy false hope that you're actually going to marry him."

"I wasn't lying to Hudson," I said. Rodas looked momentarily confused. "How could my Father allow me to wed a Wizard instead of an Airian? It would taint our bloodline and who would want to see a Wizard become a royal?"

I nearly got sidetracked for a second. I never thought about my Father forbidding me from dating a Wizard. The topic never came up between us. There were so little Wizards in the world that it would be impossible to even meet one. Yet here I was in a relationship with two Wizards. In a blink of an eye, he was right in front of me, holding my hand. His hand felt warm and comforting but Natalie didn't like that. My grip tightened on Rodas, trying not to break under Natalie's command but eventually, I jerked away from him. His face fell and I nearly broke into tears. Seeing him so hurt made my heart twist into a knot.

My temper rose and I mentally lashed out at Natalie, trying to stop her. She pushed back and redirected my anger and pain somewhere else. Without even realizing it, I shoved Rodas back. He stumbled back, not expecting my sudden attack and gripped my desk for support.

Stop it! I shouted at Natalie.

"Stop it!" I screamed. I blinked in confusion. She made me scream it out loud at the same I said mentally. I felt her presence take over as Rodas found his balance.

"Don't touch me,"

"Emma, what's wrong? If it's about your father, then tell me. I can help you." He said calmly. His voice called out to me. Only Natalie kept me up and from crying at the moment.

"Don't you see, Rodas? This isn't my father's fault? It's our fault."

His expression darkened. "So what are you saying? That we should break up?"

I threw my hands into the air. "God, for a guy who suppose to be so smart, you're really dense, you know?"

His only response to that was slamming me against the wall and kissing me. His mouth claimed mine and I lost sight of the world. However, Natalie wasn't liking this at all. With a strength I didn't know I had, I shoved Rodas off of me, breaking the kiss off. I can still feel it lingering on my lips. Rodas faced away from me, staring at the ground.

"I told you not to touch me. I'll have you thrown out the palace for assault if you try something like that again. I don't care who you are, but no one touches me without my permission. Now leave before I call the guards." I warned, crossing my arms.
