I got put on cookie duties with the last two men I wanted to be with at the moment. Rodas and Dylan. It wasn't like I hated both of them. I currently have a rocky relationship with Rodas and being the test subject for Dylan's flirting wasn't going to fix the falling out we had.
"So four eggs?" I asked while opening the fridge door.
"Yep, could you also take out the sugar?" Dylan called out, his question almost making me almost drop the eggs.
"You keep sugar in your fridge?" I managed to say, as I stuck out my free hand to catch the egg.
"No," he admitted, "I just wanted to see if a sweetie like you would know where all the sweets are."
I rolled my eyes. "Don't say that to Serena. It's a horrible method to attract girls."
"Emma, I don't think you understand," he said with complete seriousness in his voice. "Girls are already into me. All I need to do is to show my love for them."
I snorted. "And how are you doing that? By flirting and bungee jumping."
Rodas had finished pre-heating the oven. "Come on now, less talking, more working."
Dylan and I effectively shut our mouths and switched to professional talk. "Okay, crack those four eggs into that bowl and whisk them together."
I hesitantly nodded and walked over to the bowl he pointed at. It's been almost two weeks since I've last cracked an egg and I wasn't too confident in my skills at the moment. I could feel Rodas' stare burning into my back as I cracked the egg. Surprisingly, it came out decent and I only had to pluck on small eggshell out of the bowl. I repeated the process on the next two eggs.
I picked up the last one. "Don't you mess up my streak," I whispered at the egg, staring at it so intently, it could come alive. I shook the egg to make it look like it was giving me a nod. In my peripheral vision, I could see Rodas shaking his head in amusement.
I cracked the egg, but too early. I didn't have enough time to quickly move my hands forward for it to land in the bowl. Instead, the egg landed on my apron, making a yellow mess right on me.
"Gross!" I exclaimed, releasing the eggshells. I could barely hear the crack as they crashed onto the floor. Rodas was instantly on my side, expertly taking off my apron without letting the egg drip on the floor. "You failed me..." I muttered, glowering at the apron in Rodas' hands.
I looked up to see him trying to hold back a laugh. "It's so not funny!" I cried, making his laugh come out. However, Dylan ruined the moment with his annoying whistling.
"Whoa Rodas, I didn't know you were that anxious to take her clothes off." He commented, earning glares from the both of us. I sighed and grabbed some paper towel to wipe the egg whites up.
"Ugh, I wish I could wipe that from my mind. Even yours so you won't tell anyone." I joked.
"Darling, all you have to do was ask. I'll be happy to do it for you." Dylan replied.
"What do you mean? Are you going to take a rolling pin and knock the three of us out?" I asked, slightly confused and wary of the deadly, wooden weapon in his hand.
"No, even though that would be slightly more enjoyable. One of the powers that I have is the ability to wipe or change people's memories." Dylan said, earning a glare from Rodas.
"You shouldn't joke about that. It's not a topic we should be discussing." Rodas said, scolding Dylan.
"Why not?" I piped up, immensely curious of Rodas' abrupt mood swing.
