No one answered, raising my suspicions even more. The atmosphere was strained. It could ward off an army of Krey. I was expecting Dylan, Natalie, and Sam to speak up since they were so adamant about it before. But they just stay quiet, averting their gaze from mine and discovering how interesting the floor was.

"Well? Is it just a 'Wizards Only' thing?" I demanded, getting a bit annoyed.

The other three were still intrigued in the wonders of the floor and library. Only Rodas was the one who was bold enough to look me in the eyes. He stared at me for a few more seconds, making me wonder if there was something wrong. It was like he waged a mental battle in telling me the truth. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed heavily.

"Come in." He said stiffly, moving aside. Bookshelves covered all sides of the room, reaching all the way to the sunroof at the top. There were multiple ladders for people to use. In the back of the room, I could distinctly see maids dusting the books, keeping them in the best condition possible.

He led me over to a study room with a few chairs and a polished, wooden table. I sat down at the head of the table while the others sat near me. I pointed at all of them. "You guys, have been hiding something from me. Ever since we met. I don't know what it is, but I want answers now,"

I recalled the conversations I eavesdropped on in the past. How they were always talking about someone or something. How they made sure to never talk about the matter around me. How they never answered my question or gave me vague responses instead. How they kept the truth from me, until now. I think I have a good idea of who they were talking about.

The four of them exchanged glances, not saying anything. I continued on. "I heard a couple of things from here and there, I want to know what it is. If it is about me, I have a right to know why you guys keep talking behind my back and stopping me before I perform a kill. Tell me the truth, because I will find out sooner or later."

That tense silence was back and it was stuffier than before. "Guys, she's right you know. I mean, how long have we been hiding this? Seven, eight years? Hiding it won't protect her, it could hurt her." Dylan finally spoke up. My mind was buzzing. Seven or eight years? What was he talking about? I never even met them, let alone knew them.

Sam and Natalie shook their heads in agreement but only Rodas had a scowl. "If you really think that risking her life like that is the right way," he started off quietly, his tone like a razor knife. "Then you tell her Dylan. After all, it was your idea."

Dylan's face paled. He obviously didn't think his idea would be turned against him. "Me? But I don't know where to start."

I sighed impatiently. "Oh for God's sake, would someone please tell me. Stop avoiding the truth. Just start somewhere and roll with it."

"Emma, I'm sure you know of the battle Air had against the Krey seven, eight years ago?" Natalie asked, giving me some clue of what they were talking about. It was what Dylan was referring to as well. The battle where Krey attacked Air, killing countless of innocent lives. I even almost died.

I crossed my arms, not sure where she was going with this. "Yes," I hesitantly said. "I was in it myself. Why?"

"Because that's what we've been hiding from you, Emma," Sam answered quietly. "What you thought that happened, actually turned out a bit differently."

I narrowed my eyes at them. "What do you mean? I don't recall anything different. Krey attacked, killed people and almost me, but then we pushed them back. End of story. What else is there?"

"The truth about you Emma," Dylan piped in, with a sad look on his face. "The real reason why you have nightmares and how they hurt you in return."
