I dreamt about darkness for a long time. Then voices joined my dreams and I heard something. "Do you think she is ok Serena?" asked a familiar voice.
"Course she is Ellia. She is Emma after all. You know what she is like." replied another person. The two voices chuckled. The sounds of them soon faded and the shadows consumed me again.
I blinked a few times, trying to get used to the fluorescent lights above me. Remembering my memories before I blanked out, I quickly sat up to see if she was here. I looked around me. The room was an infirmary. I was sitting on a cot and there were much more in the room. The whole place had the latest medical technology. It was impressive. I scanned the area and beside me on a plain wooden chair, was Seiro. I nearly gasped as his presence. His eyes were closed and he looked peaceful sleeping there. He seemed so young, and yet he had so many responsibilities. Not wanting to wake him up, I quietly stood up and tried to walk. I was too weak to have my wobbly legs hold my weight. I flew instead and the world suddenly shifted. I crashed into the ground and heard people rushing in.
"Princess Emma, you shouldn't fly or move." said a man.
"Oh dear, why did Emily have to send her flying in the air." said a voice that sounded strangely like Headmistress Kiera. I turned on my back and saw Seiro, the Headmistress, and a man wearing a doctor's coat. Seiro helped me up and supported me while I stumbled my way back to the bed. The man came over and held out his hand for me to shake.
"Hello, I am Doctor Gordon Princess." He said in a professional voice. I smiled and shook his hand.
"Hi, can I ask why I am in here?" I asked.
"The new student Emily Godsworth smashed you on the pavement," responded Kiera. "She thought you wanted something from her when you held out your hand. She didn't know you were only trying to be nice. Since Emily had nothing with her, she had couldn't give you anything and she thought you were a thief. I'm so sorry, Your Highness. She is new here and doesn't know that much about the rules in society. I should have-" Kiera got cut off by a teacher running in.
She politely curtsied at me and said, "I'm so sorry to interrupt but the King and Queen have arrived and they would like to speak with you, Seiro, and the Princess." My eyes widen and I glared at the adults surrounding me.
"What! How did they know about this?" I asked with annoyance in my voice.
"When you were being moved to the infirmary, we immediately contacted your parents," replied Doctor Gordon in a soothing voice. I groaned and got up on my feet. I felt a bit dizzy but I managed to stand straight. Seiro tapped my shoulder and passed me my boots and my tiara. I examined it and I sighed with relief. It had no dents or scratches.
"Thanks!" I said. I started to walk a bit and I stumbled, but otherwise, I can move on my own. I left the infirmary with Seiro and Headmistress Kiera right on my heels.
Air Mackenzie Academy was truly a fabulous school. The halls were wide and spacey so students and staff could fly in the hallways. There were humongous windows so moonlight and sunlight could shine in the hallways. It was night so I could see the moon and stars shimmering in the dark mysterious sky. We soon reached Kiera's office which was bigger even than my own bedroom. The room had a desk with stacks of paper and chairs with cushions in front of it. There was a bookshelf on one side of the room with many ancient and new books. There was even a balcony at the end of the room that faced the courtyard. I stared in awe as I took in the sight of the room, but I soon scowled at the sight of something else in the room. My parents were sitting down, staring at me.
"Why are you here Your Majesties?" I asked in an icy voice. They looked at me and gave me a warning look.
"King Connor, Queen Dianne, I am so sorry for the behavior of Emily Godsworth," said Headmistress Kiera. God, did that woman apologize all the time?
