Glaiza Galura Howell, 34 weeks preterm, was wheeled inside the ER. The triage nurse logged it at 2037H of June 24. Patient Unresponsive with antepartum hemorrhage. Maternal bleeding, possible class 2.

The Attending Physician made a quick evaluation and ordered for an emergency C-section.

No fetal heart rate detected.

The prognosis; Placental Abruption, Uterine rupture.

Unconfirmed patient information was provided by a minor, Jimboy Dela Cruz. Unable to get more information from adult companion.

The patient was en route to OR when next of kin, Christy Galura arrived at the hospital premises. She was told that the fetus had to be removed from the patient as soon as possible to increase chances of mortality.

A few minutes after, Nadine Howell came and signed all the necessary documents for billing and consent. She promised her bestfriend that if this time ever comes and the situation calls for it, the baby will be priority. Whatever it takes.

She bit her tongue and never said a word to anyone. Her sister will live without the child. But not without her wife. In the end, blood is indeed thicker than water. 

At 2124H of that same day, Kobe Sebastian Galura Howell was delivered. with Asphyxia Neonatorum. Simply put, no heartbeat.

The pediatric surgeon on standby had to perform resuscitation.

At that exact moment, patient's spouse, Rhian Howell entered the hospital doors.

When she reached the door to the OR, the nurse on duty was contemplating whether or not to call security.

"hindi kita naiintindihan, miss!" hindi ko na makontrol ang sarili ko. pati itong nurse nasisigawan ko.

"ate! ano ba! asan si glaiza!"

"nay ano ba! putangina naman!" humahagulgol na ko dito sa tapat ng OR. bakit hindi ako pwedeng papasukin. asawa ko yan.

"yoyon, umupo ka muna." umiiyak na rin si ate. si nanay hindi nagsasalita, nakaupo lang. ano ba naman!

napasalampak na lang ako sa sahig. pilit akong tinayo ni ate at ni batchi para lumipat sa upuan pero hindi ako nagpahawak.

"ate! asan si jewel?"

"nakay mommy sa bahay." sagot nya.

"papuntahin mo nga dito!"

"ano ba yan, yoyon?"

"tangina te! tatlo talaga kaming magkakahiwalay ngayon? dalhin mo si jewel dito dahil kailangan ko sya dito! ngayon na! tangina!" hindi ko na alam talaga. gusto ko lang mayakap ang anak ko. kailangan kong kumuha ng lakas sa kanya.

"yon, ospital to. gabi na." salita ni batchi. tangina pati 'to, aawayin ko. tignan mo.

"pare, putangina kunin mo yung anak ko dun, ngayon na!" mababaliw na talaga ko. inuuntog untog ko na yung ulo ko dito sa dingding.

"mam, may iba pong pasyent—" isa pa tong nurse na 'to.

"wala kong pakialam! ate! magwawala talaga ko dito!"

umatras yung nurse. tatawag na ata ng guard pero tinawag sya ni batchi.

"ate please!" nagmamakaawa na ko kay ate. patuloy lang yung luha ko sa pagtulo. nakaupo ako sa sahig, nakapatong yung braso ko sa tuhod ko.
