Shes my baby not yours (Daryl x child reader)

-Daryl's pov-
A friend of mine has a daughter, her name is (y/n) and she's 2 1/2 years old. Now you may be wondering what happened to her. Well she was given to me, her parents knew they weren't gonna live long throughout this apocalypse. So they handed little (y/n) over to me.

I have to say I've haven't told the rest of the gang about her yet. I have her with me at all times yet she's hidden. Okay the only person I've told her to was Carol, I mean I've known Carol longer than anyone else so I trusted her to watch (y/n) while I'm on a run. Carl, Beth, Maggie, Rick, Glenn, Hershel, Tyresse, Mika, and Lizzie haven't met her. I mean Judith sorta met her, but sorta didn't.

Today is the day I was planning on telling someone that I'm taking care of a 2 1/2 year old. I wanted towards my cell where (y/n) normally is to find her gone. I ran towards the kitchen only to find Carl and Beth playing with her. Carl smiled and said "Hey cutie, what's your name?" She babbles a "(y/n)". Carl smiled and said "I'm Carl, can you say Carl for me." Then Beth said "No say Beth, not Carl say Beth."

(Y/n) looked around and saw me, she then yelled "DADA!!" Beth and Carl  looked around then saw me. They looked at the child then at me and asked "Is she your child?" I smiled and said "No but I treat her as if she is, her real parents didn't make it so the handed her over to me. Now can either one of you explain to me why you took (y/n) out of my room?" Carl blushed and said "Well we heard a baby crying and-" Beth cut him off by saying "Daddy (Hershel) told Carl you had pudding in your room so he went searching for it, he ended up carrying this cutie out and showed everyone in the group." I smiled and said "Well if you excuse me she has to be fed." Carl blushed and said "I may or may not have given her some pudding once I found some." I shook my head and said "This is the only time I'm allowing you Carl to watch (y/n). I don't want her bouncing off the walls." (Y/n) then said "Pudding?!" Carl then gave her a spoonful and she happily ate it. I smirked and said "Your changing her diaper once it comes out the other end." Carl gave a disgusted face and said "Ewww, no Beth knows how to Chang diapers. I'll just feed her." I love this family. More importantly I love my family, just (y/n), Merle and I.
