May be sad

-Daryl's pov-
She's all I could think about ever since the day we met. I mean the day started out so perfectly, as if nothing could've gone wrong... but something did go wrong. Something happened that I can't forgive myself for watching and not trying to save her.

-Flashback 2 days ago-
-still Daryl's pov-
Rick, carl, (y/n), and I were out on a run as per usual. We had a (y/n) join the group only a couple of days ago. She is really nice and can make anyone smile. Heck I even smile around her. As soon as we get back to Alexandria I am going to her how I feel, I hope she feels the same way. All of us were walking along the train tracks searching for any supplies we could get our hands on. (Y/n) was behind us by 1 or 2 feet. Telling us that she didn't want to bother us so she'll be a foot or two back. Biggest mistake of my life letting her be behind us. All of a sudden we heard a gunshot and a scream. I turned around only to see (y/n) on the ground, stomach with a hole in it and a walker biting her arm.

-flashback over-
It's not my fault I keep on telling myself, but the voices in my keep on telling me to be with her. She has been on my mind since day one. One day I know for sure I'll be with her, I know that now she'll want me to keep fighting. I know she'll want me to fight my hardest and when the day comes we'll be together again. I placed a flower down on her grave and said "Someday we'll be together, I will keep fighting in honor of you (y/n). I wish I was the one to go and not you. I love you so much and I miss you." A single year ran down my face when i swear I could hear her say "Daryl keep fighting, fight for your life... fight for the honor of me, Glenn, Abraham, Beth, and everyone else you've cared about. We all miss you. Stay strong my love."

Finally updated sorry I didn't update earlier. I've been busy with school, projects and dealing with being sick🤒. I hope you guys like this chapter.

Love Kenzie, 💕
