Ch. 9: Team Psi

Team Psi was already walking along the dirt path. Their leader, Psy was adjusting his chestplate with a white fox face on it. Zues was behind him, his real name was Elias, but nobody called him that, he had a thunder cloud on his shoulder. Luner was next, he was the one wearing the black cloak, he had a blue star as his symbol. Ryder was casually walking in his potato shirt, his symbol was simply a blue crescent with a four point star in the middle, and finally Zack, he had short black hair and blue eyes, he wore a black and gray shirt, his pants and shoes the same as his shirt, he also had two machetes in their holsters at his side, his symbol was a skull. The team kept walking.

"Refresh us on the mission again." Zues said.

"Our mission is to get the assistance of Aris. We don't know his last name."

"Isn't he a bad guy?" Ryder asked.

"He's basically a bounty hunter, goes with the highest bidder." Luner said, still walking.

"But why send us?" Asked Zack.

"Simple, Aris has the ability known as "Lady Charmer" which means he can manipulate the mind of females for himself, unless they are in love." Psy said.

Soon they arrived to the worn down mine entrance. "This the place?" Asked Zues.

"Nooo of course not!" Ryder said in a sarcastic tone.

"Yes, it is." Psy responded.

The five walked into the mine. "This place gives me the creeps.." Zack shuddered.

They continued walking. "Careful, this place should be crawling with Skugga, they love the dark."

They all pulled out their weapons, Zack pulled out his machetes, Ryder his rapier, Luner pulled out his duel daggers, Zues's wrist bands folded out revealing gauntlets, and Psy pulled out his long sword. Along the way down they ran into some War Hogs, but managed very easily.

They eventually made it to the end of the mine which was a large abandoned railroad system.

"He should be here." Psy looked around seeing some people walking around carrying boxes, a few came up to them with rifles.

"State your business stranger!" One of the three men growled.

"We're here to speak with Aris."

"About what!"

"That is none of your business." Psy calmly said.

"I'll shoot your br-" the man was cut off.

"Ladies, what seems to be the problem?" The man said. The man was slightly muscular, he had green eyes and brown hair. He was wearing a gray trench coat, under that he had on a black suit and tie, glasses, and a black fedora.

"I take it that you're Aris?" Asked Psy.

"I most certainly am, and what's yours?" Aris asked referring to his name.

"Psy, and this is my team, Psi. We are from the Crimson Shield clan."

"Well, Psy, welcome to the Black Hat Gang. Now come with me."

"And my team?"

"They'll be fine." He began to walk off as Psy followed him. They made it to a train cart, Aris opened the door for Psy. They both sat down in a booth on one the train cart.

"Now, what brings you to my domain?"

"We seek your army, you would be a great ally against the war with the Black Lance."

Aris just chuckled. "I can assure you, I know what my forces can do, but you're asking me to risk my men's lives?"

"I can see why you are worried, but they would die for a good cause."

He just laughed again. "I don't care about any of the soldiers here, what do you have to offer?"

"Novas."

"How much?"

"Lots."

He smiled. "There is a slight problem."

"And what might that be?"

"Lance has offered me something greater." Aris pulled out his revolver, aimed it at Psy, and shot.

The shot wad heard by the team. "What the?" Zues questioned.

The goons looked towards the shot then pointed at the rest of team Psi. Thinking quickly, Ryder used his ability to shoot lasers, the lasers came from his sides, like that came out of no where, Ryder pulled out his rapier and began to fight off enemies.

Zues folded out his gauntlets once again. He jumped off the ledge and slammed his gauntlet covered fists into the ground sending a shock wave of lightning through all of the enemies around him.

Luner put up his hood and jumped down near a shadowy area with three goons pointing rifles at him. Luner grew a small smirk and slowly walked back into one of the shadows. The three men looked at each other before they began shooting, but they just hit the wall. Luner then jumped from another part of the shadows throwing one of his daggers into ones head and rolling behind a box. The two goons ran towards the box, Luner grabbed his other dagger and threw it in to one of the guns causing it to explode, he then charged the other one and pulled out a spare knife slicing his throat.

Zack, with his machetes slashed and hacked a load of enemies, he shot flaming skulls at them.

The window of the train cart burst open and Aris was seen being thrown out of the cart. "Really? Just got this suit cleaned!"

Psy jumped out of the cart.

"Well as much as I'd love to stay for dessert, my tum tum is full." Aris pulled out a button. He clicked it and an explosion happened in the roof, all the goons and Aris teleported away. The roof didn't cave in, but holes appeared. Suddenly Skugga began to jump down the hole. Slekias, Vorkers, and even worse Korpse.
Slekias are muscular dog like creatures, except their top and bottom jaw were split in half so when they bite you they latch on and it's almost impossible to get them off. Vorkers were humanoid looking figures with no face, instead it looked like their entire body was burnt up, their arms were long with large, sharp claws on the end of them. Korpse we're very large spider like creatures, they had legs as sharp as knives that could cut through rock, and four eyes, their webs would form back together if cut.

"Why did it have to be Korpse..." Zack groaned.

"Agreed." Said Luner.

Psy stood up. "Zack, take the Slekias, Luner take the Vorkers, Ryder, Zues, take down one a Korpse." The group split up and charged at the creatures.

Zack shot flaming skulls in a circle and grabbed his machetes slicing it in to their only weak spot, the neck. He kept this up until the majority of them were deceased.

Luner charged at the Vorkers with his daggers. He slid under then cutting off their legs, but their legs regenerated almost instantly. Luner began hitting them in the back, that's how you kill them.

Zues punched off a leg of one of the Korpse. He then punched off another. The spider-like creature tried stabbing him with a leg. Zues grabbed it just in time and threw it to the side. He then charged his fists and jumped hitting the Korpse directly in the chest sending an electrical charge through it, causing it to die.

Ryder dodged the legs coming towards him in a stab motion. Ryder used his rapier to stab it in the chest. A crystal formed in his hand and he threw it in the opening that he made he then used his ability to shoot the crystals, which worked like a scattershot sending blasts through the creature.

Psy was taking on the Alpha Korpse, it was like the others but more bulkier armor. Psy used his long sword to slice off a leg. He knew he couldn't turn invisible because the Alpha Korpse only sensed the heat around people. Psy kept trying to hit the thing but it moved faster than the others. By this time Psy grew angry, from losing the mission, putting his team in danger, and not taking proper protocol. Psy stood back and latched his long sword on his shoulder, it folded up and became and high powered laser cannon. He shot it and the Korpse split in two. Psy sighed. "Let's get back to base, the mission has failed."
