Ch. 19: Slabs of Butter

Sora was up and cooking breakfast. She was humming a song happily. She was the only one up. Amber was up late reading the other night, so she wasn't up. Sora sighed happily as she wore James's green jacket.

As she was cooking, James walked out and down the hall. "Hey Sora." He said in a tired tone.

Sora stopped dead in her tracks. She looked down at the jacket she was wearing. Sora turned around greeting him with an innocent smile. "Hello James!"

James looked at her with a confused look. "Why are you wearing my jacket?"

Sora swallowed the lump in her throat. "I...uh..... I'm cold?" She questioned herself looking at him, and growing a soft blush.

"Why didn't you just wear yours?"

"I couldn't find it?"

James looked at the coat rack seeing her orange jacket. "It's right there."

"Oh! Silly me!" She said unzipping his jacket. She took in a whiff of the air smelling burnt pancakes. She jumped and ran towards the smell. She quickly took it off the burner and sighed.

"Don't worry, I'll eat that one." James said walking over. "I'm sure it'll still be amazing with your cooking skills." James said smiling.

Sora blushed a tad more and hid her face. "Thank you."

"No problem."

"Hey, why are you up so early anyways?"

"Well, I've been thinking." He said blushing softly.

"Yes?" Sora looked at him.

Sora blushed a lot as James began to leaned in.

"Sora? Soraaaa!? Earth to Sora!" James yelled.

Sora shook her head softly and looked at James. She realized what just happened was a day dream.

"So?" James tilted his head.

"What?"

"I asked if you would help me train to become a better fighter, you ok?"

Sora smiled. "I would love to!"

"Great! When do we start?"

"We could start after the mission?"

"Sounds good." James began to walk off. "Thanks Sora!"

Sora sighed and flipped a pancake.

Amber walked out of her room as James was about to knock. Amber tilted her head, but shook it off and walked down the hall. James stopped her. "Hey can you wake up Chris for me?" Amber gave a nod and walked in to the room Chris was asleep in.

James walked in and shook Emily. "Hey Em wake up." Emily just groaned and rolled over. "Sora made pancakes." Hearing this Emily jumped up and darted out of the door. James laughed softly and walked out following her.

Amber knelt next to Chris and began to shake him. Chris groaned softly. Amber shook him once more. Suddenly, she felt a hand wrap around her wrist. She yelped quietly as she was pulled in to the bed with Chris. She blinked softly and tried to move, but she was stuck. She sighed. Chris was asleep and using her as a cuddle buddy. Amber finally accepted this and got cozy closing her eyes. After a little bit, Chris woke up and stretched. He yawned and looked down seeing the girl curled in a ball. Chris blushed softly before shaking her. She woke up looking at him.

"You tell no one about this, got it?" She demanded.

Chris nodded as they both got up to go eat breakfast.

Emily smothered her pancakes in butter, smearing the slabs all over,  and then covered it all with a  syrup. Her mouth watered. Chris huffed lightly eating a piece. James was shoveling the food in to his mouth. He loved Sora's cooking. Sora still had James's jacket on without realizing. She stayed quiet thinking about her daydream earlier. After they were finished, the team gathered their gear and walked out the door.

They walked awhile.

"Oh I've got one!" Emily yelled. "You better watch your Caloreies." Emily chuckled.

James laughed. "Okay, my turn." He thought for a minute. "It's a lot Swarmer in the summer."

Chris and Amber sighed. Sora smiled and giggled softly at the bad puns. "Hm." Emily thought. "I Liekki these puns!"

"Ok! That's enough!" Chris yelled.

"You've been telling puns for an hour." Amber crossed her arms.

"And we have another hour to go! What else are we supposed to do?" Emily questioned.

"Remain quiet?"

"Uuuugggh. Fine."

They remained silent the entire rest of the way. Once there, they made their way in to the base. They stayed quiet causing Emily to get bored. They found the computer room. Amber turned invisible, and knocked out the guy that was typing it. Something didn't feel right to her. Something was differently. As it hit the floor, Amber looked at it. It wasn't even a man. It was a decoy wax doll. Amber turned around to see the door that had her team behind it. As the door closed, Chris lept in pulling out his weapon in its guandoa form. Amber pulled out her bow.

"Crap!" James yelled as the iron door slammed shut. The only thing heard was gunshots from machine guns. James pulled out his sword and shield. Emily grinned pulling out her spear. Sora pulled out her axes. Guards began to run at the three. The blade of Emily's spear folded down making a short sword. She lunged at a group of enemies. Sora did a roll to dodge bullets. James sighed realizing he was on his own. He was a better fighting here then in open places. He threw his shield at the wall, and hid behind the corner. He heard several ting noises. Like metal hitting metal. When he looked around the corner to see all the men knocked out. His shield bounced in front of him. He smiled and picked it up. He looked in the direction of Sora.

Sora slammed her axe in to a man and did a back flip off of the wall landing on another man. She slammed another in to the wall and sliced down on another's head. She elbowed one in the gut then slammed him on the ground. She grabbed her axes.

James watched her in awe. He drooled a little, but shook his head looking at Emily.

She ran threw them and cut off their heads with ease. She then slammed one in to the wall smashing his head in. She put her weapon away and bolted at two of them bashing their heads together. The tripping another one. And then sent the last through a wall.

Sora and Emily ran over to James. They got in a fighting stance as the door opened. Chris looked at them and waved. "Sup?" Chris asked grinning.

Amber and Chris walked out. The other three looked in to the room to see the bodies all dead. Amber had a drive in her hand. They walked out and back to the Crimson Shield clan.
