Ch. 17: Team Kappa

Chester was sitting on the couch waiting for his team to finish getting ready. He had dark blue hair and eyes. He wore a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, black dress pants, black vest, black tie, and metal wrist bands around his wrists. His symbol wad an Fe on his shoulder.

Kayla walked out. She had long brown hair and green eyes. She had a white tank top, and black skinny jeans. Her symbol was a harpoon bullet shooting through a circle.

Chester waved at her. "Morning Kay!" He smiled only to get glared back at. Kayla just rolled her eyes and walked out the door. "Right." He said as Max came out.

Max was Kayla's twin brother. He had short dark brown hair and green eyes. He wore a neon blue shirt, a black vest, a black beanie, and a digital watch. His symbol was a throwing star.

Macy came out soon after that. Her hair was short and a light shade of purple and her eyes were dark blue. She had on her usual black pants and short sleeved light purple shirt. Her symbol was a dove.

Joel walked out stretching. He cracked his knuckles looking at Chester. His hair was short and black covering one of his two purple eyes. He had black pants and a black shirt, and his vest was blue. His symbol was a brain.

Chester got up and walked out of the house with his team. Their mission was simple. Much like the other teams, they had to scout a Black Lance base and get information. They walked for hours in silence.

"So... any ideas on how to break this awkwardness?" Chester asked.

Kayla rolled her eyes. "I'm scouting ahead." She said running off ahead of them.

"Good riddance." Max crossed his arms. "How do you like my sister anyways?" Max asked Chester.

"Just do. Why do you like Macy?" He asked.

Macy noticed her name and pulled a part of her headphones up. "Hm?" Her voice was soft and understanding.

"Nothing!" Max yelled. She hesitated for a minute before putting it back on her ear.

"You know she likes you back right?" Joel said coming out of his usual quiet self.

"Really? How do you know?"

"I just do."

"So are you going to tell us your ability yet?" Chester asked Joel.

Joel shook his head no.

"It's like you don't even have one."

Joel huffed lightly.

Kayla soon came back to the rest. "Almost there."

"Good work, good job hug?" Chester suggested only to get an eye roll from her.

"Rejected." Max chuckled only to be glared at by Chester which shut him up quickly. They walked a bit and ended up at their destination.

They hid in the bushes before Chester led his team inside. They fought a few guards, but not many. They eventually split up. Chester being the leader, he put Macy and Max together, Joel on his own, and Kayla with him. Kayla and Chester went right, Max and Macy went left, and Joel went forward.

Macy put her dark purple headphones around her neck and pulled out her staff. Max looked at her smiling. 'She's so cute.' He thought. Max pulled a circular chip out of his pocket, about the size of the palm of his hand. He pushed a button making blades pop out forming a throwing star.

Chester was walking casually while Kayla looked like she was ready for anything. Her harpoon gun in hand. Chester folded out his blades. They came from his wrist bands and stretched across his arms poking over his knuckles lightly. He was trying to connect with Kayla.

Joel was walking alone, which he liked. He did like his team, but found it easier to think with other people around. He looked around seeing nothing.

Max and Macy were walking.

"Hey so... uh.." Max tried saying.

"What is it Max?" She asked looking at him.

This just made him more nervous. "Wanna, maybe, go get something to eat sometime?" He asked.

"What like a date?" She smiled.

"Yeah... like a date."

"I would love to." She gave her usual sweet smile making Max blush lightly.

Max then tripped. He sat up rubbing his head looking where he tripped. He saw a trip wire. "That... can't be good."

The alarms blared. Max quickly stood up as they were surrounded by guards.

Joel found the computer room and knocked out the guard sitting in the chair. He sat down and began typing. A few guards ran in to the room, and aimed their rifles. Joel kept typing and a shuriken came from his pocket and hit them in the head going through one and in to another. He handled them easily and pulled a drive from the computer sticking it in his pocket.

"How unfortunate..." Chester said putting his fists up.

Kayla looked at him and he gave a nod. Chester grew a smirk. Kayla ran towards him and jumped putting her feet towards him. Chester's arm blades folded sideways. As Kayla landed on them, Chester thrusted his arms forward sending her flying at the wall and a group of enemies. As she flew her harpoon gun folded making a mace with a harpoon head. She took out the enemies, and jumped off of the wall slamming in to another group of them. Chester folded back his blades and lunged towards a group and sliced them in half.

Max grew a smirk as a small control pad opened from his watch. He threw the throwing star in the air and fiddled with the pad making it go wherever he wanted it too. Macy smacked an enemy with her staff before shooting a bullet fused with lighting at a few of them through the top of the staff. A man with bombs strapped around his chest walked out from the shadows. He pushed a button and exploded. Max's eyes widened. He pushed a button on his pad and jumped. His throwing star started to fly under him. It folded out forming a hoverboard. He landed on it and lunged forward picking up Macy bridal style heading away from the collapsing building behind them.

A man was about to shoot Chester before Kayla shot him in the head. Chester turned around seeing the man then looked back at Kayla. "My hero!" He smiled as a man strapped in explosives came out of no where and exploded. Chester grabbed Kayla and ran away from the explosion he ran towards a wall as Kayla jumped on his back ducking behind him. His blades folded back to wristbands. His skin turned to iron as he made contact with the wall breaking through it and ended up catching Kayla bridal style. He looked at her. "Now you're supposed to say it!" He yelled said with a smirk. Kayla just rolled her eyes.

Max and Macy made their way to the area they all split up. Max saw Joel running towards the exit. Max puy Macy on his side holding her with one arm as he grabbed Joel's arm and made it outside barely. He fell on the ground with Macy at his side. She kissed his cheek making him blush again. Chester and Kayla ran up.

Chester sighed. "We failed."

"Not exactly." Joel said pulling out the drive.
