Me and Clodagh were in the car, I was driving and she was almost asleep in the passenger seat, at least it was what I thought.

“You really liked that guy, didn’t you?” She asked, looking at me.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I didn't take my eyes off of the road.

“Of course you do. I’m talking about the cute guy that helped you with his friend.”

“Oh that guy.” I said, pretending I didn’t care.

Oh that guy” She repeated sarcastically. “I know you too well.. You’re thinking about him right now.”

“No, I’m not. Don’t be silly.” I said, blushing. I blushed easily.

“Ahhh! See! You’re blushing! Now I’m sure you were thinking about him. He was cute, I completely understand you.” She smirked at me.

“Ok.. I guess I can’t lie to you. I was, in fact, thinking about him but I’ll probably never see him again, so I need to forget this. It’s the best thing to do.” It was hard to hide my sadness.

“Oh don’t think like that, you’ll never know. You could have asked for his number.” She said, glancing at me.

“I was too annoyed to ask him his number.”

“No, you weren’t annoyed, you were petrified with him.” She giggled.

“Shut up!” I said, hitting her  arm playfully.

“Oww! You are so violent today!” She told me, rubbing her arm “First, you slapped the guy, making him fall, and now you hit me.” She started laughing.

“Sorry but you two deserved my violence.” I was laughing too because I was remembering the fall from the guy. It was so funny.

Clodagh’s house was not far from the investigation center, so in 15 minutes we were there. Every Fridays me and the girls would get together at each other’s houses. This week it was Clodagh’s turn. When we arrived, Eilis and Emma were already there because Clodagh left a spare key under the carpet that was outside of the house.

“Hey girls!” I shouted, announcing our arrival.

“Hey finally! Where have you been?” Eilis asked concerned.

“Yeah, we thought you would never come.” Emma said, looking at us.

“We got some problems but I’ll explain everything.” I started.

“Cute boys are involved!” Clodagh warned them, making me glare at her.

“One cute boy and a drunk. It’s more like that.” I said, and then I ran upstairs to change into some comfortable clothes. Clodagh did the same. When we returned to the living room I sat on the couch and told them everything that happened.

“I can’t believe you didn’t ask his number!!” Emma yelled at me.

“I know! But now I have to forget this, it’s the best thing to do.”

We ended this subject and watched a movie until we all fell asleep on the couch. I woke up early and everyone was still sleeping, so I dressed myself and went for a walk. Clodagh’s house was close to the beach, like mine, so I walked over there to enjoy the firsts sunbeams. It felt so good. Earing the sound of the waves, smelling the air, feeling the sun. There was nothing better for a Saturday morning.

After a while I sat in the sand and stayed there, thinking about the previous night. I really liked that guy. I mean, I didn’t know him but he was very nice with me and to be honest, I miss having someone in my life. I’m not in a relationship for so long. Sometimes I wonder if the problem is mine.
