“What’s wrong girl? You sound very nervous.. are you okay? Did anything happen?” She asked very concern.

“I I’m fine.. it’s just.. I-I’m .. wow.. okay.. let me just breathe a little..”

“What the fuck had happened??!!” She exploded while I inhaled the air around me very deeply.

“I.. hum.. I think.. FUCK! I think I’m in love, Eilis!” I finally said it.

“Oh my god!!!! I’m so excited!!! Does Brian already know it? Did you guys kiss? That’s why you’re so nervous? Oh my god!!” She was way too excited.

“Wow wow.. Brian? I wasn’t talking about Brian..” I said with a serious tone.

“Are you kidding, right? So who’s he? What the fuck, Annie?” She looked angry and confused now.

“I was talking about Matt..”

“You’re not serious, are you?” She asked in disbelief.

“Of course not!” I burst out into laughing and she sighed in relief.

“I’m so gonna kill you! For moments I feared for the worst..” She said as I kept laughing.

“This was so funny.. I really needed to relax.”

“So.. this whole thing of being in love is a lie.” She seemed quite disappointed.

“Only the Matt’s part..”

“Oh. My. God. Does that mean that you really love Brian.. I mean.. love.. love?”

“I guess so..” I said calmly as Eilis freaked out for some minutes.

“But what happened? Why were you so nervous when you called me?” She asked once she was cooler.

“Brian and I almost kissed.. again.” I said and I knew she was screaming inside.

“I know! I saw you two on the beach.. you looked so cute.. I don’t know why you pushed him away!”

“Wow, wait.. You saw me on the beach? Were you sneaking? That’s really low!” I said playfully.

“Sorry, but you were just.. I don’t know.. sorry..”

“It’s okay.. but I wasn’t talking about that. Brian and I almost kissed here.. in my house.”

“In your house? Like.. now?” She asked anxious.

“Yes, like now.. he just left.. oh my god Eilis, this is getting worse…” I said in panic.

“Worse? This is getting better! Why are you so worried? This is a good thing, Annie.”

“I don’t know.. I’m so confused.” I sighed in desperation.

“Oh shut up! You just admitted that you were in love with him, so go for it!”

“No! I need time to think about all of this..” I protested.

“Okay, I understand.. but.. Annie.. he’s an amazing guy, Brian loves you… a LOT!”

“You think?” I asked hesitant.

“No, I’m completely sure! It’s written all over his face.. please don’t be silly!”

“Fine.. but I still need time to make up my mind.. I’ll talk to you tomorrow, okay?” I said.

“Yeah.. I’m so happy that you finally realized that you loved him!” She giggled excited.
