*** Third's POV ***
“Matt? What the fuck are you doing?” Brian asked in disbelief. Matt instantly moved away from Emma and looked at Brian embarrassed.
“We… we.. weren’t doing anything.. we were just..” Matt couldn’t speak, he was too jumbled to think right.
“Yeah sure. I know I’m drunk, but I still can see quite well. I saw what you were doing, don’t say shit to me!” Brian yelled. He was so pissed.
“What the fuck dude? It’s none of your business!” Matt snapped back angrily. His voice slurred a little due to his druken state.
“Of course it is! You’re my friend and I don’t want you to fuck things up. I thought you liked Annie, dude!” Brian said completely confused and pissed at the same time.
“I do.. I do like Annie a lot.. but.. I don’t know..” Matt rubbed his face with his hands, not knowing how to get out of that situation.
“So why were you going to kiss me if you like her?” Emma asked calmly but with disappointment in her voice. She was looking right into Matt’s eyes but he was avoiding hers.
“I’m sorry.. I think I wasn’t thinking right. I’m drunk and-“
“That’s not an excuse." She cut him, "I felt the chemistry between us, you can’t deny that.” Emma stared at his face but he was too ashamed to look at her.
“Fuck dude.. Annie doesn’t deserve that.. she really likes you, can’t you see that?” Brian told Matt and then he turned to Emma. “What kind of friend are you? I can’t even.. fuck.. I’m out of here… I can’t stay here one more second.” Brian said as he turned around to leave them. He was so disappointed with Matt and Emma, but especially with Matt because he never thought that his friend would do something like that.
When Brian was about to leave, Emma grabbed his arm making him turn away, facing her.
“Will you tell anything to Annie?” Emma asked worried.
“I really should tell, but I’m not, because I’m nothing to do with this shit. However, if you do that again, I’m not going to stand here watching with my arms crossed. And you Matt, make up your mind, dude! Annie is not a toy..” And then he left, leaving the couple all alone again.
Emma was with his back turned to Matt. She couldn’t look at him, she didn’t know if it was because she was ashamed or if she was mad at him. She was drowned in too many different emotions to be able to talk or to even look at him in that moment.
“I.. I can’t.. I can’t stay here.. I’m leaving.” Emma managed to say as tears fell down on her cheeks.
“Wait..” Matt said, grabbing her arm but she pulled it away immediately.
“Don’t. I can’t talk to you right now.. just.. leave me alone.” Emma headed to the bathroom, once again, locking the door behind her.
Meanwhile, Brian was already in the living room, with a beer on his hand and trying hard to hide the anger expression on his face. Walking back and forth, he didn't know what to do as his mind kept replaying the previous images of Matt and Emma almost kissing.
Clodagh was on the couch with Zacky next to her. They were drinking and flirting so they didn’t notice Brian’s situation. Lacey was already sleeping in Johnny’s arms, also on the couch, and Eilis and Annie were happily talking with each other on the floor, leaned against the couch. But that’s when Annie noticed Brian’s anxiety and discomfort.
*** Annie's POV ***
“Wait a second, Eilis.” I said as I stood up from the floor, walking in Brian’s direction. “Is everything okay?” I asked calmly yet with concern. He stopped for some moments and looked down at me. His hard lines of his jaw immediately softening as his brown eyes met.
