Next morning we were all with a headache; Clodagh was the worst one. Yesterday night she got home completely wasted. Since we were all fucked up we chose to stand home all day, watching movies, talking, eating.. Laziest girls! I know.
I didn’t want to talk with Emma about the previous night because she was fine today and I didn’t want to change that, but Eilis was worried, she had noticed yesterday that Emma wasn't fine, so she ended up by touching in that subject.
“What was wrong with you yesterday, Emma?” She asked looking at her.
“Nothing was wrong; I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Emma replied, not taking her eyes off of the TV screen.
“How can you say that nothing was wrong? You were all silent, not even a word came out from you all the ride home.. you were so weird..” Eilis insisted.
“I was just a little bit wasted, and usually I keep my mouth shut, so that way I can’t say anything stupid.” Emma said, glancing at me every once in a while. This was exactly what she said to me yesterday but she wasn’t saying everything.. what about Matt?..
“I know you better than you think.. it’s not just that.. I’ve seen you wasted before and you weren’t that quiet.. it’s something else but if you don’t want to talk about it it’s okay.. I’ll respect you..” Eilis said smiling, but I know she was a little concerned and sad because Emma didn’t told her.
“I’m sorry.. it’s just.. I don’t want to talk about that okay? It’s useful..” Emma explained.
“Okay.. I understand, don’t worry.” Eilis replied. “I was tired too, yesterday, but I had a lot of fun and I know that you also loved it.” She said, looking at me with a smirk. I just smiled back, I didn’t want to talk about yesterday in front of Emma, she had already enough. She could have said that she was okay with all of this, but I know that deep inside she was suffering.
The rest of the day was calm. Watching TV was the main attraction. At the end of the day we all returned to our own houses because we had to work next day.
It was already Tuesday and Matt didn’t call me or text me like he said he was going to do. Maybe he didn’t really want to see me again; maybe he was just being nice when he asked for my number. I stopped thinking when I realized I was already in Eilis’ store. I was going to lunch with her but after that I had to go back to work and so had she. Soon, we were lunched and I was leaving her store.
I took off my car keys and unlocked it. I sat and start the car.. I mean I tried to start the car but I wasn’t being succeeded. I tried again and again and again but I failed every single time. Definitely the car wasn’t working.
“Why the fuck don’t you work??!!” I yelled. “Come on!! Start!! I need to go to work, come on!!” I sighed, giving up. I got out of the car and closed the door with so much force that it could be heard in the whole street. I was so pissed!
“Ahhhh! You. Stupid. Old. Idiot. Jerk. Car.” I yelled, looking at the car. I then closed my eyes and leaned against the ‘incapable’. Yes the car. I was thinking in a way to sort out the problem.
When I opened my eyes I had someone right in front of me, making me jump.
“Shit.. you scared the fuck out of me.. again. You can't just show up from nowhere..” I said with my heart still racing. “Are you stalking me or what? You’re everywhere..” He just smirked at me.
“We’re destined, don’t you see?” He said, still smirking.
“Fuck you..” I got inside the car again just to avoid that fucking smirk, but it didn’t work.
