Not Everything Is What It Seems (Book I)

Alcohol + Compromising questions = Really bad ending

“What’s up, guys?” Brian asked as Matt and Zacky came in.

“Wow.. I’m seeing you didn’t miss us.” Zacky said as he looked at the four girls who were on the couch. We stood up from the couch and walked towards the guys.

Clodagh and Eilis were so shy, it was so funny to see them like that. When I looked at Matt, he was wearing one of his dimpled smiles. I was melting inside and my heart was beating fast. I missed him. I hugged Zacky and then I went for Matt.

“Long time no see..” He said as he hugged me tightly. I wrapped my arms around his middle and rested my head on his shoulder. It felt good to be in his embrace. After a while I looked up at him and smiled.

“Nice to see you again.” I said and then I heard someone cough. I looked at my side and everyone was looking at us with joking faces. I instantly blushed and moved away from Matt.

“Aren’t you going to introduce your friends?” Zacky asked with his arm around Emma’s shoulders. She was not very amused and her eyes were locked on the floor.

“Sure. I’m sorry.” I said still embarrassed.

“So, this one is Clodagh and she’s Eilis.” I said pointing to each one of them.

“So you’re Clodagh..” Zacky realized.

“Wh-what does he mean with that?” Clodagh asked me with a confused look on her face.

“I guess I talked about you yesterday..” I said trying to hide my smile.

“I’m so gonna kill you..” She whispered, making me laugh.

“It’s not that bad.. I think we’re going to get along pretty well..” Zacky said, throwing his hand in Clodagh’s direction. She grabbed his hand but when we all thought that he was going to shake it, he took her hand to his lips and gave it a brief kiss. We all burst out into laughing and Clodagh paralyzed, I think.

“Oh Zacky, you are helpless.” I said, still laughing.

“What? Can't a guy be nice now?” He asked, smiling. I just shook my head.

“Nice to meet you Clodagh.” He finally said. “And nice to meet you too.” He turned to Eilis and gave her a hug.

“I’m Matt.” He said, smiling, before hugging them. “Hey Emma.” He also hugged her and she smiled at him.

“Where’s little Johnny?” Brian asked curious.

“He’s coming with Lacey, but he’s probably arriving.” Zacky said.

“Ok.. meanwhile, should I bring more beers?” Brian asked.

“Hell yeah..” Matt shouted and Brian ran to the kitchen.

We all headed to the living room and sat on the couches. It was Eilis, me and Matt in one. Emma, Zacky and Clodagh in the other.

“Eehhh!! Where do I sit now?” Brian asked as he handed the beers to Matt and Zacky. All the couches were full.

“Come on, we can squeeze a little..” I said, pushing Eilis to the edge of the couch. I got close to her and Matt did the same to me, leaving a space on his side for Brian to sit.

“No.. I want to be on Eilis’s side.” He said with a smirk.

“Are you serious? I can’t believe it.. and this is all your fault.” I said, turning to Matt, who furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

“My fault? Why?” He asked, chuckling.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about!! You told him that Eilis was my confidant! And now he wants to know things!” I explained, making them laugh.
