I woke up next morning with a slight light coming from the window of the room. I lazily opened my eyes and Brian was sat on the other side of the bed with his back to me. I smiled and crawled towards him, wrapping my arms around his upper half and kissing his cheek. He looked at me and gave me a sad smile. I moved away a little eyeing him confused and somewhat concerned.

“Is everything okay?” I asked.

He sighed and lowered his head. “We need to talk, Annie.” My heart started beating faster than the usual.

“What’s wrong? You’re worrying me.” He stood up from the bed and walked to the window. I threw my feet out of the bed and sat where he was before.

“I discovered something yesterday but I think you won't like the idea.” He said, gazing out through his window. My heart speeded up even more and I jumped out of the bed, walking slowly in his direction.

“What is it? You’re scaring me.” I was truly concerned and my heart was telling me that I was going to hate what I was about to hear.

He turned to me with a sad look. “Yesterday I slept with Michelle and… and now.. I think I love her again.”

I could feel my heart being ripped in small parts and my head started spinning around. “You.. you.. can’t.. you’re kidding right? Please.. tell me that’s not true!” Tears formed in my eyes and I could barely talk.

“I’m sorry, but it’s true. I really love her and I want to be with her forever.” He said, smiling a little.

“No! You can’t do this to me! I love you, Brian! No!” I ran to him and tried to hug him but he pushed me away, shaking his head negatively.

“No.. I’m sorry. I don’t love you!”

Long drops of salty water ran down my cheeks, leaving wet paths on their way. “Brian.. don’t do this..” I grabbed his shirt, pulling him to me but it was impossible. There was something between us, something invisible and strange. Brian suddenly started disappearing like a ghost and everything on the room was blurry and was walking in circles around me.

“Briaaaaaan! No! Briaan!” I cried, falling on the floor with my head buried in my hands. I started hearing some voices but I didn’t know from where they were coming.

“Annie!”

I kept crying on the floor of that spinning room around me, calling for Brian.

“Annie.. I’m here”

The room was starting to get very dark and empty, so I closed my eyes and laid on the floor, curled up on my own body, with my hands on my ears.

“ANNIE!”

And suddenly everything was black and I felt like I was falling into a big black hole.

I opened my eyes with my heart on my throat, shaking from everywhere, with tears on my face and on my eyes. It took me some moments to realize who was in front of me. It was a concerned Brian with his hands on my shoulders.

“Annie!! Annie!! Wake up!” He shouted.

I leaned up, still shaking, and threw my arms around Brian’s neck, hugging him with my dear life and sobbing very hard. He sat on the bed and placed me on his lap, holding me tightly and rocking my body slowly as his hands rubbed my back up and down.

“Shh.. it’s okay.. it was just a nightmare.. I’m here now..” He whispered as I cried with my face buried on the crook of his neck. He kept saying calming words and never moved his arms away from my body. After long minutes I stopped crying but he was still holding me. I loosened my grip on his neck and he took it as a sign to move away a little. He looked at me and I rubbed my eyes to wipe the tears away.
