📝Quick Note: This story is written completely on one single idea, the first paragraph. Later on there's a flash of George and such, but I promise it's not another Fred hurts her and she ends up loving George one shot !

My love for him was like a Phoenix, bursting into flames whenever he found another girl, but always reappearing from the ashes when he came over for a shoulder to cry on.

"Fred? What are you doing here?" I asked, staring at the ginger-haired boy in my doorway who so happened to be my best friend. He sighed, looking around him before sniffing. "Can I come in?"

Here we go again, I thought to myself, another break up.

"Of course." I said, ignoring the petty voice in the back of my head that told me to slam the door in his face for coming to me for the zillionth time ever since he, his twin and I left Hogwarts and they started their joke shop.

I moved away from the door way to allow him in, and he entered, taking off his coat while I closed the door. "Are you okay?" I asked, worry etching my features once I noticed the stained tear marks on his cheeks, as well as his bloodshot eyes.

Fred shook his head, looking down at his shoes. "Come on, I just made some tea." I said, grasping his wrist gently and leading him to my living room/kitchen/dining room area.

The gentle touch initiated by myself sent shivers up my spine, a feeling I had become accustomed to. After all these years of liking Fred but never having the feelings reciprocated, I had become a great actress and learned how to push my feelings aside whenever needed.

While I filled two mugs with Fred and I's shared favourite tea, I noticed Fred looking over a series of moving photographs I had hung on the wall, of Fred, George and I every single year since we first met and at special occasions.

"You still have them?" He asked, in a hoarse voice that normally made butterflies fill my stomach, but now I could only feel worry and sadness. How did he manage to do this to me every single time?

"Of course I do." I smiled gently as I handed him the mug, and he sat down on my couch. A small smile formed on his face before he thanked me for the tea.

I bit my lip, blowing on the tea to help it cool down. "What happened, Fred?" I asked, yet regretted it when I saw his smile fade and eyes well up.

In a matter of seconds, both our mugs were back on the coffee table and Fred was explaining how Robyn, his latest girlfriend, had cheated on him.

"I don't know what I did wrong, Maegan. I loved her and she... she didn't love me back." Fred sobbed as I pulled him into my arms, something I had been doing a lot these past months.

"I'm so sorry, Freddie," I whispered, rubbing his back gently. "She doesn't deserve you." But I do, came a small voice from the back of my head, but I didn't voice that thought. I never did.

Fred whimpered and wrapped his arms around my waist, curling into me. "Shh." I shushed him quietly as he continued to sob, and soon he had calmed down enough to be able to continue talking.

"Why does it keep going wrong?" He asked, pulling away and wiping his eyes. "I don't know." I whispered, and it was part true. The selfish side of me wanted to say that it was because the girl of his dreams was sitting right in front of me, yet I knew that if I voiced any of these feelings, I'd risk ruining our friendship.

Fred sighed, and took a sip of his tea. I wondered how he did it, coming to me and hugging me, crying on my shoulder but then suddenly pulling away and acting almost normal again.
