Two Hours Later
My eyes flutters open after Jo's voice went back and fourth in my mind. I opened my eyes to find him panicking.
"What?" I said.
"Francisco has been in a critical car accident. We need to hurry to New York and I decide to bring you with me. So you wouldn't be worried." Jo replies.
"When?" I ask trying to keep calm.
"Just about an hour ago, but we need to hurry. I decided to wait. Since everyone else left. For some reason Halle was upset when I told her." Jo answers.
"She's mad at me over some stupid stuff. Anyways. I'll get changed. Then we can go." I said getting off the bed.

Once we got to the hospital. I got out of the car. Jo trying to stop me. But I didn't let him. I felt my hair almost immediately get soaked.
"I told you, I had an umbrella." Jo said. I smiled that he was still positive about things unlike his brother. I turned around finding police nearby a car. It was Francisco's Mercedes.
Jo and I enter into the hospital. First person who caught my attention was Adina who was pacing around the waiting room. She stopped to stare at Jo and I.
"Can we have a waiting room for Francisco Mendes?" Jo says to holding down the button as he spoke to the woman.
"Who is this checking in?" The woman asked. Jo sighed quietly at that.
"Jo Wynn and Sage Reid. We have been both here before." Jo answers.
The doors open a little after Jo tells her. It closes behind us. We walked down the hall. Till I found the right room. Turning to my left. I noticed his mother's room.
"I'll back, give me a second." I said walking down the hall. Opening the door carefully. She was lying there instead of sitting up.
"You still there?" She ask.
"It depends on who you are looking for. If it's the nurse, then no. A visitor then yes." I answer walking closer to her.
"Sage, is that you?" She ask forcing herself to sit up.
"Yes, but please don't sit up. I don't want to force you to do anything your body doesn't want you to do." I answer.
"How is my son doing?" She ask.
"I haven't checked on him, but Jo said it was very critical. Do they know who hit him?" I ask.
"I don't know or no one knows. Well, it doesn't seem like it. But I don't have that much time left." She answers.
"Are you sure?" I ask.
"Yes, I can barely feel my arms or legs. Or my body in general. My body is getting eat up. So I want to spend my last minutes or hour or however time I have with a conversation." She answers.
"It should be with Francisco." I reply.
"He's too injured. I'll just have it with you. It's better than most people." She said. I smile at her compliment.
"Okay, what does Francisco say about me over the text messages?" I ask.
"How you aren't ever other women. You are different. Maybe because of your face or smile or mostly because of your personality." She answers.
"That's sweet of him, but before we became better friends. Your son hated me more than life." I reply. She chuckles.
"He was more annoyed by you then anything to be completely honest." She said. I smiled at that, because it was true.
"I think you're the perfect girl for Francisco. You might not see it yet. But I do. Because you're just a innocent girl in the wrong place at the wrong time." She explains.
"Francisco is the sweetest guy I've met, that's when you get to know him, at first he seems like a jerk. I'm surprised he survived with me for three months. Seems nearly impossible." I reply.
"Trust me, if he's gotten that far with you then he probably does have the patient." She said coughing.
"But I am not the girl for Francisco. He wants someone who's smart, not annoying, wealthy just like him, and someone who acts like him. I don't. I am complete of opposite of him." I reply.
"He doesn't want just a girl based on those traits. He wants someone who understands him. You do. He's told you many things about life and family, right?" She ask.
"Yes, but hasn't he told Adina all those things. He was about to propose to her after three years." I answer.
"Adina was different. There relationship wasn't all happiness but it wasn't the same as what you and Francisco have." She replies.
I looked up at the heart monitor. It was slowing down. She looked at me and took my hand in hers.
"Thank you for being the last person I talk to." She was going to continue. But that's until her eyes closed along with her grip weakening.
The heart monitor was now just a straight line. A tear slipped out of my down my cheek. How was I going to tell Francisco his mother died in front of me and he wasn't there to say his last words.
Now it was time to tell Francisco. His mother would be upset if she knew I had kept this long secret from him. I was going to tell him soon. Which he would probably not want to hear the truth. But it was coming.
***
Another death? In a couple of chapters. I know you guys are probably going to assume what Francisco's reaction will be to this and Sage's truth to him.
Do you think Francisco will take it okay/fine doesn't face him?
Or
Francisco will have an outrage about it and maybe go a little psycho about it?
The next couple of chapters are going to be a bit depressing until Sage finally admits to him or won't she?
