Francisco's POV
Four Months Back"Halle did you find her?" Martinez ask.
"No, she's not on any street. She wasn't even in the stores. I think she was taken." Halle answers. I just wanted to mute every noise.
"Francisco, what did you talk to her about? You were the last person to be seen with her." Jo ask. Turning towards him, looking at the ground for an answer.
"She told me about how Nikolay was here father and I got upset with her. I pulled out my gun, forcing her to leave. Even when she tried to come back inside." I admitted. "Before you decide to fucking get rid of my gun, you don't know how it feels like to be lied to. Twice."
"Well, didn't you at least attempt to talk to her about it?" Martinez questions.
"No, because Adina did it to me once for three years and Sage for three months. Except Sage is the daughter of Nikolay. The man who shot my own biological father. For a reason that's still unknown." I reply.
"Francisco that's not fair." Halle says.
"What?" Confused at her stupid comment.
"Sage didn't even know her parents were alive for seventeen full years, and you treat it like she knew since she was a baby. She kept the secret from you, because she was afraid that you would react like this." Halle explains.
"After Tristan died, I stayed with her for three months and she kept the secret from me. Isabeli kept the secret from all of us." I said turning towards Martinez and the rest of them.
"Tomorrow we have to tell Isabeli that Sage is missing and confront her about this Nikolay nonsense. We can't worry about Sage at the moment." Martinez replies bluntly.
"That's still not fair Francisco." Halle says folding her arms, as she walked away from dinner table and up the stairs.
I rolled my eyes at her, as Martinez still glanced at me. Jo sighed as he walked away from the living room. I stared down at the glass coffee table. Running my fingers through my hair, I shouldn't have yelled at her to leave, or most importantly threatened her with a gun.
I've done plenty of things that I have regretted in the past, but this was the biggest mistake. Now who knows if I can even take it back.
Fuck.
Fuck this.
And fuck everyone in that Russian mafia. That fucking cult.
Next Morning
"How do you know for sure that her mother is here?" Halle ask dragging her body across the concrete floor.
"Would you stop asking questions and just let us do our jobs." Martinez snaps.
Halle quickly shut her mouth. Martinez reaches the doors, pressing his ID against the reader. After the system reads his card, he put his hands against the reader. As the does the unlocked.
He opens the door, allowing the rest of us to enter into the building. He closes the door behind him. As we walked down the hall of the estate. Which Isabeli had owned all to herself, it was hidden from the rest of the city.
"Stop right there." Isabeli says drawing her silver pistol at us.
"Its just us, Isabeli." Martinez says putting his hands up. She lowered her weapon, placing it into her back pocket.
"Who are you?" Isabeli ask, realizing she was talking in directly to Halle.
"Me?" Halle questions.
"Yes you." Isabeli answers coldly.
"I am Sage's friend. Halle." Halle replies. Isabeli rolls her eyes, but panic entered her pupils as she started to turn away, she looked back at us.
"Where is Sage?" Isabeli ask.
"Nikolay took her. We are unsure where she is. But that's not the reason why we are here." Martinez says.
"Why exactly are you here then?" She questions.
"You and Nikolay had an affair. We know because Sage told us, before Francisco had an outbreak on her, causing her to runoff." Martinez answers sternly.
More guilt was emptied into my stomach. Isabeli glared at me, but gave her full attention back towards Martinez.
"It was seventeen years ago. She's here now, why does it matter?" Isabeli argues turning away. She walks down the hallway that lead to her kitchen.
"Because, we want to know how she is exactly here now and what happened." I said. Isabeli turns towards me.
"You're the reason why she's not even here." Isabeli replies.
"You two stop, Isabeli we want to know. So we can make some negotiation with Nikolay." Martinez steps in.
"Fine. Fine. Nineteen years ago, Nikolay and I had met in a bar after my original date ditched me. I thought he was the sweetest man I have ever met. But after that, months of dating, things went down hill. After our breakup. I ended up finding myself pregnant. Three months to be exact. I gave birth to her and I kept my relationship with him a secret. And her. My mom had taken care of her and became the guardian. But after Miles was accepted into the mafia, Nikolay found out he had a kid. It was Sage. Sage found out her parents were both alive. Now we are standing here." Isabeli explains.
"You didn't know he was the Russian leader?" I ask, as the flashbacks of my father getting shot had returned to me.
"I did, Francisco. I didn't mean for him to kill your father. He must've been outraged and when he saw you guys getting ice cream, he had to get revenge." Isabeli answers. Anger had filled through me.
"Now, guess what. He has Sage. If she ends up dead, you don't deserve to be the owner of this mafia. She will end up like my father." I said harshly. Martinez turns towards me. But I glared at him.
"So you better help us find her, or else we will be digging a grave for her." I snapped. Isabeli widened her eyes, but nodded her head.
"We will find her." Halle says.
