"Listen, I am just beyond confused. Should Francisco and I try to date again or would that just become a fail?" I ask with my toothbrush chilling into the corner of my mouth.
"I don't like Francisco. But if you have feelings for him. I'll support you. He just seems like a player. If you guys get married, he's gonna ask for an open relationship." Halle answers. I could tell she was being serious.
"He's changed, its been three or four months now and he's been sweet, caring, and everything else good." I reply. Halle chuckles.
"That's when he's not around his mafia buddies. When it's just the two of you, he acts all nice." Halle explains.
"No, he's not like guys at our school. He's different by a mile." I said.
"Remember he blamed you for failing the mission." Halle reminds me.
"I guess you're right. I'll just keep my friendship with him. I think it'll be better that way." I reply not wanting to say that. But I did.
"Well I have to go help Jazz with some stuff. I'll call you later." Halle says.
"Okay, bye." I reply.
"Bye." Halle said ending the Skype call. I walk over to the bathroom, cleaning my toothbrush. I thought to myself.
Halle and Jazz probably became best friends while I was out of the picture. I didn't care much. Since Halle and I weren't going to the same college. We wouldn't be that great of friends anymore. My bedroom door opened.
"I'm going to this event thing tonight with Martinez, Tom, Jo, and the others. I didn't want to risk bringing you. So I'll let you stay home. Don't answer the door for anyone. I'll be back tonight. At like two." Francisco explains.
"Oh, okay." I reply. He had on fancy clothes. I guess the event was special or something. I only went to one mafia event which was the one where I met my mother.
"If you need anything just call me." Francisco said. I nodded. He walked out of my room closing the door.

The rest of the night was boring. I just walked around the house looking at things that I have never seen before. For instance like reading a book for the hundredth time and reading something you skipped over the other ninety-nine times.
There was something beyond reach that Francisco would be upset if I went through it. His office. He told me I could be in there when I was doing his work. But I couldn't scramble through his stuff.
I was so bored and he said that he would be home at two. It was only eleven. I had time. Making my way over to his office. I grabbed the key from the drawer connected to the coffee table in the living room.
Closing the drawer to hide any evidence. Walking over to the office. I put the key into the hole, turning it. I hear it unlock.
Opening the office door. First thing I noticed. It was cold, I mean like freezer status. Flicking on the lights. Black office chair behind the desk. The desk was dark oak.
Walked behind the desk. Maybe it's time to stop. Nothing interesting. I saw a new email on his computer. Sitting down on his office chair. Made me feel like I had power.
But as soon as I clicked the email. It made me feel like I didn't have any power. It was from someone named, Adina Kelly. I saw the first line of the email.

Subject: You're being lied to.
Dear Francisco, I know we broken up and I have no right to be innocent. But Sage is lying to you or has kept a secret from you. She is Nikolay's daughter. I know you don't want to believe me. But I have proof. Email me back if you want it.Butterflies swarmed my stomach. I felt like throwing up. But I instantly trashed the email. Went to the trash. Deleted it completely. Everything happened so quickly.
But it needed to be done. I wanted to tell Francisco. But he told me himself that he would kill any of Nikolay's family since he killed Francisco's dad. It's been four months. I've kept this secret for too long.
I looked at his pile of mail. I started to search through it. None were from Adina. Maybe he must've thrown them away since Francisco and her broke up.
Francisco
"Hey you made it. Where's Sage?" Jo ask holding the red cup. Must've been full of soda or something else.
"I didn't want to risk bringing her. This is a mafia meet up." I answer. My phone vibrated in my hand.
"What is it?" Jo ask.
"An email from Adina. Fuck." I spat.
"Well open it up. Maybe it's a nude." Jo replies. I chuckled. I didn't want to be one.
I slide the email, it brought me to the gmail app. I waited for it to load. Loading Failed, this email has been deleted. I furrowed my eyebrows in frustration.
"What happened?" Jo ask.
"The email didn't load because it has been deleted. I didn't delete it." I answer.
"Well who else has your email? Or it could've been that she deleted it." Jo replied. That reminded me. Sage.
She was home alone, she knew where the key to my office was. Maybe she unlocked it and found something she didn't want me to read. Then deleted it.
"Sage." I answer.
"Francisco, my man. You showed up. Here have a drink. Martinez told me you've been fed up with babysitting a girl. Come on. Have some fun." Jordan's famously familiar voice hit me. His comment annoyed me.
"Fine, just a couple. I need to drive back home tonight." I reply.
"Yea!" Jordan says giving me a cup of whiskey or vodka. I didn't know. I started to take a drink of it.
In a couple minutes. I was already past five cups. Maybe it was time to move on from Sage. She obviously lost feelings for me. I don't need her. I don't deserve her.
