"Well that's the last of it. I don't think there's anything else." I said putting my hands on my waist looking around the room.

"I do have something to give to you. Since I will be gone for three months or longer. It depends how long they need me." Tristan explains.

I see his pulling out a small box. On the bottom it had in bronze writing 'Alex & Ani' he opens the box it had circle with a blue gem in the middle.

"I bought this bracelet since it represents the month of your birthday." Tristan explains. I looked at it smiling unconditionally.

"It's beautiful, thank you Tristan." I reply putting it on.

"Of course." Tristan said.

"Lets grab some lunch before you go." I suggest. He nods before setting his duffle bag onto the side of the bed.

Sofia was in the kitchen making something. She was staring at the oven for a bit. But coincidently she pressed the off button pulling out the food from the oven.

It was a tray of lasagna. She places it onto the table, turning towards us. She starts cutting the lasagna into small square.

I notice her opening the cabinet pulling out two plates. She puts the first square of lasagna on the nice white plate with red and pink flowers on it. Grabbing the other plate putting the second thing of lasagna.

Tristan and I grabbed a plate, along with some lasagna bringing it over to the table. Tom and Jo came to join us after grabbing their plates.

"You ready for Africa?" Tom ask taking the pitcher pouring out water into his and Jo's cup.

"Yes, I am a bit nervous since I haven't been out of the country in a while." Tristan answers putting a thing of pasta into his mouth.

"Well two of friends have traveled to Japan for a couple months. I think you'll be fine." Tom replies.

When lunch was done we helped clean the dishes. Tristan and I had our laughs about certain topics, things we remembered from our school.

After that we went down the stairs to the room. There was only about fourty-five minutes till he had to leave to the airport. I wish I could slow down time.

"Remember when that girl fell down at our graduation?" I ask.

"You mean Laurie. She was fine, but it seemed painful." Tristan answers.

"Halle told me she broke her ankle." I argue. Tristan chuckles.

"Well that's not true." He replies.

"Here's the last of it. Oh let me go grab my phone from the charger downstairs." Tristan says running down the stairs once again.

Tom had his car key spinning around his index finger. The front door opened to reveal Francisco, Martinez, and Jo. They had take-out bags.

"We are home with extra leftover food if anyone wants any." Martinez announces. Just as Tristan comes up the stairs.

I see Martinez and Jo walk over to the office. Francisco heads over to the kitchen. At the back of his head I would always give him a wary or disturbed look.

"Tristan, you now ready to go?" I ask.

"Yes, Tom lets go." Tristan says. I walked in front of him in the middle of Tom and Jo.

That's when I heard glass shatter and everything felt like it went in the slowest of motion. There was yell through the house.

When I turned to check on Tristan. I was hoping he jumped to the ground out of reflexes, but when I noticed him covering his stomach.

That's when everything sped up again. I ran over to the Tristan. Hovering over him. I kneeled down besides him. At the corner of my eye, I see Liam with a gun running out of the house.

"Tristan! Are you okay?" I screamed instead of asking.

"I can't feel my stomach." Tristan replies in a careless tone. "I feel so numb."

"Tristan you are not dying on me today. Please." I said, I turn over noticing most of the window in the front was shattered.

"I won't be able to live." Tristan says. "The gun wound hit me in the place where I could possibly be paralyzed or worse."

"Don't say that." My eyes began to water I looked into his dark brown eyes. His palm is placed against my cheeks.

"I want you to know Sage. You are smart, beautiful, and everything amazing. I love you so damn much Sage. Don't forget me." Tristan replies. My cheek felt wet. From my tears and blood from Tristan's hand.

"I won't." I said as more tears slid downs my cheeks quickly.

"Francisco told me that he will protect you. So just trust him. He will do so much better than me." Tristan replies.

"I'll take your word for it." I said as tears started to continue falling. Instead of arguing with him.

His eyes shut slowly. I couldn't keep myself denying his death. I wanted pinch myself till I woke up. But I couldn't. My eyes plugged up, ignoring everything surrounding me.

"Sage." Francisco's deep voice rung in my head. Feeling someone's hand gripping at my arm. A loud noise alarmed me, unplugging my ears.

I looked at the ground there was a bullet hole on the floor near me. Turning my head. I got up as Francisco pulled me away, I felt myself get weaker. I sat on the ground. Didn't want to see Tristan's lifeless body on the floor.

"Sage, you could've gotten killed or shot. And I am not letting that happen again." Francisco explains kneeling down besides me.

"Tristan is dead." I reply. More tears slipped from my ears.

Francisco pulls me into a light embrace. I couldn't stop myself from letting tears falling down my cheeks.
