Francisco stood there, his facial expression changed from cold to complete sadness. The last time I saw him with that facial expression was the day he found out his mother got cancer again.
"I am so sorry, Sage. If I would've just stayed and not have left. They wouldn't have done that to you." Francisco said, I could tell from the tone of his voice, he was actually believed it was his fault.
"It's not Francisco. If you would've have stayed. They would've killed you and still done the terrible things." I reply.
"At least if they killed me, they would've been too busy composing my body and wouldn't have harmed you. I would've done anything to prevent this all from happening. They could've tortured me, drowned me, suffocate me, tie me to a metal ball and throw me into a pool to drown. Just so I could prevent any of this to ever happen." Francisco said.
"It's okay Francisco. Everything is part of the past. Nothing now can change it, but I am glad that you care." I tried to not be such a downer during this.
"I might not be able to fix what happened in the past, but we can make sure this doesn't happen again." Francisco acknowledges. "And What the hell makes you think I don't care?"
"Four months after my disappearance, I convinced myself that you didn't care about me anymore." I said.
"Sage, I was angry in the moment when everything happened, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you." Francisco replies.
"For now lets just get our mind off of this and just eat dinner. Today has been a long day." I suggested. A relaxed smile appears across Francisco's face.
"If you wanted we could watch a movie on Netflix." Francisco also suggested.
"That would be great." I replied.
Francisco
My eyes were slightly shut due to my body nearly turning itself off. I pulled phone to check the time, as I did I see Martinez calling me.
I removed my blanket from my body, before answering his phone call. I answered it and popped my knuckles to wait for Martinez to say something, but since he didn't say anything...
"Hello?" I said, my voice came out very raspy and hoarsely.
"Should I call another time, you seem tired. You and Sage already slept with each other?" Martinez questions.
"I would laugh, but that is not a funny joke at the moment." I reply racking my fingers through my dark hair.
"What happened to Sage?" Martinez questions. "I'm glad that you two are alright by the way.
"I am glad too, but Sage was raped by Marco." I said, clenching my fist tightly together. "God that piss of shit. To make matters worse, it was the night after I left. I would've fucking stayed to protect her."
"It doesn't matter, Marco is a sick prick. Her consequences could've been worse, and I am not losing my best man. Doesn't matter, we aren't done with those Russians." Martinez replies.
"Do you think it's going to be safe to send Sage back to California? There is just too much going on right now." I said turning towards Sage who's was peacefully sleeping.
"It could possibly be the best thing to do. We can't tell her until we got the tickets and it's near the day where she leaves." Martinez explained.
"Sounds good." I agreed. "Just want to get her out of this mess."
"Well I'll let you get some rest." Martinez says, sending a yawn over the phone. "We can talk more tomorrow."
