My eyes slowly opened a bright white light shimmering upon on my eyes. I rubbed them to get clear up my eyes. Which didn't do anything, but make them extremely watery.
Once everything became clear, I found the ceiling of an office with a single light. I looked down from the ceiling and looked in front of me. I attempted to move, but I was restrained.
Glancing down at my left arm then to my right, I found two metal restraints on the both of my wrist. I also attempted to my legs, but were also attached to a metal restraints.
The office clearly looked different from the ones at the Martinez's estate. I hear the office door open. I looked to my right, which revealed to be the one and only. Nikolay. The Russian Leader. And My father. He gave me a joyful smile and which is teeth was perfectly straight and crisp white.
"Sage Reid. My daughter. I didn't know it would be so easy to get you. I guess Martinez didn't give you enough attention." Nikolay said, chuckling at his comment.
I didn't say anything. This situation reminded me of when Francisco had kidnapped me, a couple months before. Nikolay takes a seat in the leather chair. He didn't have a professional outfit on. He simply had on a gray shirt with black jeans. Him and Francisco did have similar styles. I assumed, it was just one of his relaxing days.
"Don't talk much?" Nikolay questions. "I do not take silence as an answer."
He turns around in his chair and opened one of the drawers. He turned back my direction with a knife in his hand. It was a simple pocket knife, a brand new one in fact. I could the ceiling reflecting perfectly on it. No scratches or scuffs."Don't talk in the next two minutes. I will have to remove the skin from your arms. Two. Inches. At a time." He threatened.
"What do you even want with me?" I questioned.
"Good girl, we need to go over the rules of this estate. Because they might be different from those Italians. Idiots are what they are." Nikolay says flipping the knife back into the case.
"Fine." I replied. Nikolay chuckles at my response.
"Listen to me and obey me. You won't get hurt. Deal?" Nikolay ask.
"Yes. Deal." I answered annoyedly.
"Those Italians, never gave you a punishments or anything. Which is why you are so damn weak and pathetic." Nikolay replies. I bit my lower lip to prevent myself from tearing up.
"I am not here to lower your self esteem. I am going to go over the rules and you are going to answer a the questions I have for you."
"Go ahead." I said.
"Rule number one, you will do whatever I ask or want you to do. Along with what the other members ask, but mostly me. Rule number two, you will not try to escape or contact the Italians. Or there will be consequences. And they're not those Italian consequences. Lastly, you will live under my people's rules. You can't live freely until you have gained my trust." Nikolay explains.
With no response, I nodded my head. Not arguing or anything. I agreed to him, even in my head. I did not try to retaliate.
"By tomorrow morning, Kimberly, my maid will take you shopping and buy whatever clothes and other shit you desire, but after that, you are not allowed to leave the estate." Nikolay stated. "Kimberly!"
As soon as he called the name, a girl opened the door. She had on a maids dress that went down to her knees.
"Yes Nikolay." She answered.
"Unlock the girl." Nikolay demanded as he handed her a key. She nods her head and made her way to me, shoving the key into the keyhole and unlocked my restraints. I stood up and had a plan to grab the knife, but he immediately drew his gun at me.
"Go to bed. Kimberly will show you your bedroom." Nikolay says. I nodded my head. I followed her out of the room. We walked out the door.
"Follow me, I will be showing you to your room." Kimberly said softly.
"Yes." I answer, she smiles. But it quickly fades away. She turns to the stairs. Which were completely made of dark oak. We walked up the stairs.
As we reached the second floor. I see another flight of straights to the final floor. Kimberly pulls out a key from her dress pocket. Unlocking the door. Which was nearly the size of king size bedroom. She leads me inside the room.
"Thank you." I said.
"You are welcome." Kimberly replies. As she walked out of my room. Closing the door behind her.
Walking over towards the bed. Which was queen sized. I sat down on the edge of the bed. Looking down at my red vans. Remembering the time where I had returned back to New Jersey with Francisco.
The same person who said I would be safer in New Jersey than California. He was also the one who said get out of his face. The reason why I am here.
Before I could get deeper into my thoughts pinpointing whose fault it was. The door opens. I looked up as I see the famously familiar, Adina.
"Hello Sage, long time no see?" Adina says with a perfect grin across her face.
Francisco
Staring at the ground. Like everything around me, making a noise was blurted out. Sage. Was. Gone. She was here, trying to explain to me. As I ignored her. Telling her to leave, threatening her with a gun.
She ran off, I was hoping she would come back. But in the past two hours or even more. She never came back. We had gone out to try and find her.
But the last of her we found, was her phone. Lying on the sidewalk. This was my fault.
Every single part of it.
