(11) The Thing With Boys

"Was Mike always that cute?" Hanna suddenly asked as the four of us were sitting in our room. "I thought you have a boyfriend" I said and she laughed "I'm not asking for me silly. I'm asking for Poppy" She said and Poppy gave her a death stare. "Oh please, like he wasn't your type!" She said. "Shut up, Hanna!" Poppy said and I laughed. "What's so funny? You have a love sick puppy following you around" Poppy snapped at me. "Wow... I'm impressed" I said. "Talking about lovesick puppies" Phoebe said and pointed towards the window. I got up and looked out, seeing that Jesse could look into our room when he was in his, which he was doing.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked, turning around to the girls "How did I not notice that?!"

I turned back to the window, waved Jesse, who waved back and closed the curtains "Much better" I said and sat back down on my bed. "That guy just doesn't know when to give up!" I said, taking one of my pillows, wrapping my arms around it. "Do you guys wanna meet up with Jake and Jonah? He just texted me" Poppy asked, looking up from her phone. "I'm up to it" Phoebe said and we all smiled at her "Oh shut up!" She said and got up.

"Basketball court?" I asked and Poppy nod. "Yeah sure. Why not" I said, put the pillow down and got up. Short time later we were on our way to the infamous basketball court, where Jake and Jonah were already playing. "Sup boys?" I said and did a handshake with both of them. I might have been here since about three weeks, but I did find friends, like those two boys. "Three on three?" I asked them, stealing the ball from them. "How about Jonah covers Phoebe?" Hanna said laughing. "Shut up, Hanna!" Phoebe snapped at her.

"I'll cover Promise" Jake said and got behind me. "And you two, who's on the boys team?" I asked and looked at them. "Hanna it is!" Poppy said and looked at Phoebe and I.

"GO!" I yelled and we started the game. When playing I go into competition mode.

I was moving so fast, Jake had trouble keeping up with me. Then I made one wrong move and tripped, trying to stay on my feet I grabbed the next best thing, which was Jake's arm. I had caught him so off guard, that I pulled him down with me. So now we were laying there, on the ground, he on top of me.

"You move fast" He said, removing hair from my face. "Too fast I would say" I giggled, looking into his beautiful gray-blue eyes. "What are you doing tomorrow?" He suddenly asked. "Are you asking me out? In front of your ex-girlfriend?" I asked giggling. In that moment he seemed to have noticed that the two of us weren't alone. "Go for it, Prom!" Poppy said and I smiled at him "Then yes. I'll go out with you" I told him and he smiled at me laughing. "But can you get up please? You're getting heavy" I told him and he seemed to realize that he was still on top of me. He apologized and rolled off of me. "Are you okay?" He asked and I laughed "Yeah, I'm fine" I said and sat up.

Jake got up and pulled me onto my feet. "So, who are the next ones to go out?" Hanna asked. "Just shut up Hanna!" Phoebe snapped at her again. "Hey Jonah, walk with me, will you?" I asked, not even waiting for an answer. I just pulled him onto his feet, pulling him with me. "What is it?" He asked confused. "Ask her out!" I told him louder, but I didn't yell. "What?!" He asked shocked. "Ask Phoebe out!" I said it slower and clearer. "What if she says no?" He asked a little scared. Kind of cute I have to say. "She won't say no!" I told him, but it seemed to me like he didn't get it. "But if she does?" He said and I got annoyed "She won't! Just tell her it's gonna be a double date! I'm sure Jake won't mind" I told him and he nod. "Good boy! Ask her! Now!" I said and walked back to the others.

Just a short time later Jonah asked Phoebe aside and Poppy looked at me "What did you do?" She asked. "Told him to finally go for it" I said and Poppy smiled at me. "Thank you!" She said. Apparently she spend a lot time to get them together, but nothing had worked. "No problem. Maybe the double date convinced him" I said and Jake looked at me. "What?" He asked confused. "We can have our date before that" I told him and he sighed. "Too good for your own good" He said. "Hey, he's your best friend. You should be cool with that" I said and he turned away.

"He'll get over it" Poppy said to calm me down. "I know he will" I told her and Jake himself, he just rolled his eyes. "Come on buddy, I said we can have our date before that double date!" I repeated, wrapping my arms around his neck. "You never guess what just happened!!" Phoebe squealed as she hurried towards us. "What happened?" I asked her, still having my arms around Jake's neck. "Jonah asked me out!" She squealed. "Oh my gosh" I faked being surprised, let go of Jake and went to hug Phoebe. Poppy and Hanna joined in.

"He suggested a double date with you two" Phoebe said to me. Smart move. Pretending my idea was his. "Hey, how about we make this a group date?" Hanna asked. "Hello, I don't have a boyfriend nor a date" Poppy said. "You could ask Mike" Hanna suggested. "He said he doesn't want a girlfriend!" Poppy said a little sad, which seemed like she was hurt. "He didn't say that!" I said "He said that he doesn't think it's a good idea, but this is just a date we are talking about. I'm sure he will say yes!" I said and she rolled her eyes.
