Time has past and I haven't heard from Jake. I mean, I did break up with him over text. It was mean, I know but there is no way he could find out about the bowling ball in my belly. "So, you are due any day. Have a name ready?" Keeley asked. "I do have two names. Boy and girl" I said. "I don't understand how you didn't want to know about the gender. I would be dying to know, if I was you!" She said. "Well, I just want this to get out of me so I can continue with my life!"
"Prom, this is a human being you are talking about!" Keeley said, but I didn't care. I may have decided to have the baby and give it away for adoption, but that's all. I don't want anything to do with it's life or anything like that. I'm just a kid myself. It might sound harsh, but I wasted my summer by hiding inside the house so no one could see my belly.
"I was thinking about getting into gymnastics. You can teach me a bit, right?" I asked her. "Yeah, of course" Keeley answered, but I could hear in her voice that she wasn't thrilled of me giving the baby away, but it was my decision and I made it months ago and I wasn't going to change my mind.
Later that day, around the evening I started having a stomach ache. I ignored it for a while, since I wasn't due two weeks, but once they had gotten stronger, I couldn't ignore them any longer "MOM!" I started yelling. "What's wrong?" She asked, running towards me. "I think it's starting" I said panicking. "Okay, let's go!" She said and helped me from my bed. "Keeley, stay with Caleb please" Mom said and Keeley nod. "We'll follow you!" She said and went to Caleb's room.
Mom helped me to the car and dad drove off as soon as we were inside. About 30 minutes later I was on my way to the delivery room.
KEELEY'S POV
"CALEB! WOULD YOU HURRY!?" I yelled at Prom's little brother. He could literally be only slower, if he was a turtle. "I'm half asleep" He said, walking towards me like a zombie. "Why do I have to go to the hospital? This is all Promise" He said and I rolled my eyes. "Because I want to be there for my best friend and you can be there for your sister!" I said and pulled him with me. Caleb always reminded me of the reason I didn't want a little brother or sister.
In the car, he almost fell asleep again. "Aren't you excited?" I asked him, to keep him awake. "Why would I be? Promise isn't and it's not like I'm going to be an uncle" He said and I had to agree with him. "You can still be a little supportive and when I am a mother, you are going to be an uncle" I said and he groaned "We aren't related!" He said and I remembered that he didn't know about that yet and I wasn't going to be the one to tell him. His parents could be the people to do that.
"Come on" I said after I parked the car. We got out and I grabbed the hand of the 11 year old and we went to the delivery room, where we quickly found Ryder and Olivia. "Hey, there you guys are" Olivia said and hugged her son briefly "Are you okay watching him? I really wanna be with Promise" She said and I nod "Just tell her I'm here" I said and she nod and disappeared in the room. Ryder sat down on a chair and looked to the ground. "Are you okay?" I asked, sitting down next to him. "Yeah, it's just that I hoped for a better life for Promise. That she makes better choices than I did" He said. "She makes other choices. Okay she got pregnant, but isn't keeping it" I told him.
"But this situation makes me think. What would have happened if Olivia would have decided to give our babygirl away?" He asked. "She loved Promise from the second she knew about her. She was never gonna give her away" I told him.
"Oh my god, what's going on?! I saw that Promise was admitted and was immediately worried!" Promise's aunt Andy asked. She was a nurse at the hospital here, so it was only a matter of time until she found out. Just hoping she wasn't going to tell Emilia and Grace, her daughters and Prom's cousins and my step-cousins I think.
Ryder explained to her that everything is harmless and after a few minutes she agreed to keep her mouth shut about the baby and went back to work. "Are you hungry?" I asked Caleb and he nod. "You too?" I asked Ryder and he nod as well. "Then Cale and I will get something to eat from the cafeteria" I said and got up. "Here" Ryder said and gave me some money. "Thanks" I said and walked off with Cale.
At the cafeteria we bought a few vegetarian sandwhiches and three cups of coffee. "Caleb!" I yelled, since he went of to somewhere in the cafeteria and I couldn't carry everything by myself. "Let me help you" A boy in a nurse uniform, who looked just a few years older than me said and took the coffee cups. "Thanks. Sorry, my best friend's brother is a devil" I said. "Oh no worries, I have two brothers and I know how they are" He said with a smile. "Well, I don't have any brothers or sisters. I'm an only child" I told him. "Okay, then I get it" He said and we went to the exit of the cafeteria. "Caleb!" I yelled again and finally he came.
The boy ended up helping me to bring the stuff to the delivery room. "Thanks" I said, noticing I didn't even know his name. "Sean" He introduced himself, putting the coffee cups down on a chair. "Keeley" I introduced myself with a smile. "I'm still hungry!" Caleb said and I handed him a sandwhich to make him shut up, which he did. "Was nice meeting you" I said. "Same here. You're in college?" He asked. "No, I'm going to be a Sophomore in High School" I told him. "Jefferson?" He asked and I nod "I'll see you around then" He said and left.
I watched the black haired guy leave and had a weird feeling in my stomach. Was he flirting with me? And did I really just meet a guy, while my best friend was delivering a baby!?
PROMISE'S POV
About an hour had past and I had finally given birth the natural way. It was already too late for a c-section. "So, how are you naming here?" Mom asked, looking at me while I held my daughter. It was a weird feeling to hold her. I was wondering if I might get motherly feelings while holding her, but nothing. I felt nothing. Well, I was exhausted, but that was about it.
"Danielle"
