No, my parents didn't kill Jesse. They were actually kind of happy for us, since they knew how much I loved him and how much he loved me.
It was a short time before summer, meaning prom season and Asher, Miriam, Cindra and I were prom dress shopping. Keeley was going to join us later with Max. Max didn't hate me anymore since Austin's crush on me was history.
"I like this dress" I said, referring to the red dress I was wearing. "You really wanna wear that?" Asher asked and I looked down on myself "What's wrong with that dress?" I asked her confused. "No, I guess you can pull it off" She said and I looked at her "I'm sorry, I don't have a perfect Hollywood body!" I said. "Hey, I'm from Portland. Not Hollywood" She defended herself. "Yeah, but you are the biggest fashionista I know besides Evie of course" I said. "Red looks good on you, don't worry" Asher said and I looked at myself in the mirror. "Jesse will definitely love it" Cindra said. She was now officially dating Alden since five months.
"I don't worry about that. He loves me no matter what I wear" I said smiling. "Are you excited for the wedding in summer?" Miriam asked. "You have no idea. I'm so glad you are all coming dress shopping with me" I said and Asher hugged me "You need a fashion guru after all" She said. "I have one in New York" I said. "Then see me as your local fashion guru" She said and let go of me. "Promise, I am trying to say this the nicest way possible, you are going to be a bridezilla" Asher said and I had the sudden urge to hit her.
The next day I was sitting outside my house on the stairs that lead up to the porch and waited for Jesse to arrive. I was totally anxious. In my hand I was holding a letter from the University of
Nottingham in England. Jesse and I had applied for the university together. It was the only one we could agree on. "God damn it, where is he!?" I shouted and caused Cale to come out of the house. "What's going on here?" He asked. "I'm waiting for Jesse! We promised each other to open the letters together and I'm going to kill him when he doesn't arrive anytime soon!" I said, getting up, walking up and down the porch. "Then let me read the letter for you" He said and tried to take it from me.
"Don't touch that letter if you want to live to see me get married!" I said and he pulled the hand back. "Your fiancé is coming" Cale said and I got my attention on Jesse. I hurried down to the car and almost pulled him out of it. "Let's open that freaking letters already!" I said and pulled him towards the porch. "Don't look at me like that, you asked her to marry you!"Caleb said and I turned around to him "Don't you have somewhere to be?" I asked him. "No" He answered. "Leave!" I said now colder and he finally went inside. As soon as the door fell close, I looked back at my fiancé "Let's open those letters!" I said and we ripped them open at the same time and scanned through the lines.
About the same time we both looked up and my lips formed a smile and so did his "I'm in" He said "Me too!" I squealed and jumped around his neck. He briefly kissed me. We then went inside and told my parents, who were happy about it on the one side and sad on the other side. I mean I was going to leave for England once again.
Next day in school we told our group what has happened and they were all pretty happy for us. "I got good news as well" Miriam smiled. "What is it?" Breena asked. "I'm going to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology" She said. After she finished the sentence she started squealing. We all squealed with her, well except one person. Zac. "How did you get into M.I.T. and I didn't?!" He asked upset. "Because I earned it. Do you really think they didn't find out about the way you treated me?" She asked. He just turned around and left.
"He is one person that I am not gonna miss in Massachusetts" Miriam said.
Time went by way too fast and it was the night of the prom. I was getting ready together with Keeley, Asher, Cindra and Max. Miriam was getting ready with Breena, who was her date for prom. "Oh my god" Keeley said and immediately wrapped her arms around me when she saw me perfectly styled for prom. "Is dad home?" Cindra asked and I nod "Yeah, at least he was just downstairs with my mom and since today is prom, he has to take some photos. Although Jesse is the better photographer" I said. "Well, he has to be on the photo, he can not take it" She said and I smiled.
