"Happy birthday" My parents, Caleb, Evie, Ronnie, Keeley and Phoebe yelled as I slowly opened my eyes. "Thank you guys!" I said, for the first time in my life not grumpy after being ripped out of my sleep. "Happy sweet 16" All of them said and hugged me, all of them, at the same time. "Guys, please don't suffocate me!" I said and they all let go of me. "We're gonna get the last party things done" Dad said and left with mom and Caleb.

"Okay, let's get you dressed!" Keeley said and pulled me onto my feet, grabbing my wrists pulling me up. "Kee" I said whining and sat back down on my bed, refusing to get up again. "Okay, Evie, Ronnie! I need your help to find the perfect dress for her!" Keeley said and started looking through my closet together with my two half sisters. After a short time Ronnie gave up and sat down on the ground in front of my bed, letting Keeley and her twin. It took them about 20 minutes until they found something, while Ronnie and Phoebe told each other about their Sweet Sixteen parties, while I just listened. I had heard the story from Phoebe and Poppy's Sweet Sixteen, both versions and I was at Evie and Ronnie's party.

"Got it!" Keeley said and showed her chosen dress to Evie, who nod in approval. "Here!" Keeley said and throw it at me. "Gotta say, black is definitely my color" I said, got up and walked to the mirror, holding the dress in front of me. "I'd say some big silver earrings would look amazing with it" Evie said. "And that belt!" Keeley said and through it behind her. Phoebe caught it, then handed it to me. "And this jacket would look amazing as well" Evie said and throw it behind her. It landed on my head, covering my face.

"Gee thanks Evie. No wonder your team always loses in basketball games" I said and pulled the jacket from my face. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom to get changed" I said and took the black dress from the bed, some underwear and hurried to the bathroom. I quickly got undressed and then put my underwear on, then my eyes hit the mirror and I walked closer to it, looking at myself "I'm 16.. Wow... Soon I'm gonna drive through the streets of Morrison Creek" I said and laughed, then put on the black dress, grabbed my pyjamas and threw them into the dirty laundry.

I unlocked the door and went back to my room, but didn't enter "I'm gonna get my birthday breakfast before you guys assult me" I said and walked to the stairs. "Ehm, we are not assulting you!" Evie yelled as she hurried after me. "What else do you call pulling my hair, burning my face and groping me?" I asked, walking towards the kitchen. "Come on! That was one time and I apologized!" Evie said and I turned around. "I still have the scar" I said and pointed onto it on my forehead. "I'm sorry, but you are as calm as an earthquake!" Evie defended herself.

I rolled my eyes and went to the kitchen and took my place, while my mom was placing the pancakes on the table, family recipe. My dad's side of the family made them only for birthdays up until my dad's biological mom died. That's when they stopped making them, but when I my mom and dad got married, my grandpa gave the recipe to my parents as a present. Not his only present, but the one that meant the most to my dad. They have been making them ever since. On my birthdays, on my brother's birthdays and on their birthdays. It's what I'm hoping for the most on my birthday and especially in the mornings. It's the only thing that gets me out of bed that day.

"I think I'm starting to drool" I said as I was staring at the stake of pancakes right in front of me. "Yeah, let's wait till everyone is here. You won't be starving until then" She said and took her seat oppsite me. "CALEB! MOVE YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE!" I yelled as my girls entered and took a seat each. "Promise.." Mom said, looking at me, warning me. "At least I didn't yell ass through the house" I said giggling. "The older the more sass?" She asked and I smirked "Always. After all I'm my father's daughter" I said and grabbed myself a pancake. "Prom!" My snapped at me and I groaned "IF YOU DON'T MOVE YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE NOW, I'M GONNA DRAG YOU HERE. AT YOU EAR!" I yelled and just a short time later my brother appeared and my dad brought the Nutella and set it down on the table.

"I really can't stand you when you're hungry!" Caleb said and sat down on his chair. "Funny, because I can't stand you either when I'm hungry. If I'm starving, then it's your fault!" I told him. "Mom, why didn't you let her eat when she came downstairs?" Caleb asked. "Because I wanted to start when you all of you were here" She said and I rolled my eyes. "Let's eat" She said and I grabbed another pancaked and drowned them in Nutella.

I ended up eating like six of them, before I looked like I was pregnant.

I shouldn't have thought that, because now my thoughts were back on Danielle. Was it really the right decision to give her up? To keep her a secret from almost everyone? I didn't know, all I knew was that I didn't want to think about it.

I pushed the thought away and went back upstairs with my girls, who continued getting me ready for the party. It might start in the afternoon, but they couldn't get me ready early enough. Once they were happy with it, they let me look at myself. I took a deep breath, before moving to the mirror and looked at myself. I was wearing a loose black dress that ended above my knees and the black, see through jacket over it. Around my waist was a brown belt with studs. In my ears were big silver earrings. My make up was kept natural and the curls in my hair as well.

"You guys outdid yourselves" I said smiling. "I know, right? Keeley and my skills combined. We make an amazing team, don't we E?" She asked and looked at the shorter girl. "Definietly!" Evie said. I then climbed onto my bed and started texting Alex, who I have been talking to for a few weeks now.

Meanwhile the girls got ready themselves, which took less time than they took on me. Evie had curled her black hair, making it shorter than it actually is. She was wearing a tight dark blue dress and was matching it with dark pink heels. She was wearing dark pinkish lipstick and her beautiful bright blue eyes were popping out even more. No wonder she got blue eyes, her dad has them and so does her mom. Ronnie on the other hand had green eyes like our late grandma.

Ronnie had natural looking lipgloss on and had her naturally curled blonde hair in order for once. She usually wears it messy. Her dress had a red/pink flower print. She was wearing matching heels to it.

Keeley was wearing her ginger hair straight and kept her make up natural. She wore a red top, with the zipper on the front and was showing some stomach and matched it with a black skirt and black heels.

Phoebe's style was more laid back. She had her blonde hair softly curled and was wearing natural make up as well. She was wearing a white shirt and an orange blazer above it and a pair of bright blue jeans and some black heels.

"Let me just say, we look amazing!" Evie said once she was looking at her reflection in the mirror. "Let's get this party started!" Phoebe said, throwing her arms into the air.
