I Promise You

(14) Girl's Day

"So, what's next on the agenda?" I asked while we were leaving the capsule. "It's already getting dark Sweetheart" He said, putting his arm around me. "Sweetheart?" I asked smiling "Yeah, something wrong with that?" He asked. "No, no one had called me something like that before!" I told him. "Then I'm the first. Makes it special, doesn't it?" He asked and I hit him playfully. "Idiot!" I said as we walked to the next bus stop. "What's gonna happen now?" I asked him. "I'm getting you home, don't wanna get on Paula and Phil's bad side" He said and I laughed "You and their daughter broke up and you started dating the girl they are hosting. Nothing weird about that" I said as we got onto the bus. We sat down next to each other and he put his arm around me.

We were facing each other "Aren't you cold?" He suddenly asked. "No, I'm wearing a jacket" I told him sassy. He laughed and pulled me closer. "What are you doing now?" I asked, but he didn't answer me. He kissed me instead. I ended up laying my legs over his lap and we were looking at each other. "And that's your stop" He said and helped me to get up. "I see you Monday?" He asked and I smiled "Of course" I said, briefly kissed him goodbye and got off the bus, walking the rest back to the Lewis house.

I tried to be as quiet as possible while entering it, but when I passed the living room, Paula was looking at me "Where were you? I was worried! Poppy and Phoebe came home about an hour ago. I thought you were out together" She said. "We were, but then each of us went their own ways. I'm sorry" I told. "Well, you are here now and you seem okay. You are okay, right?" She asked and I nod with a smile "Better than okay" I said and walked to the stairs "Night" I said. "Good night" Paula said and I hurried upstairs.

I went to take a shower than laid down in my bed, texting with Jake. He had sent me the photos we took on our date. I looked at every single one of them.

After about 30 minutes I told him good night and put my phone away and turned around in bed. I was still smiling and I think I smiled myself to sleep. Today is the first time in a long time I was actually happy.

The next morning I woke up and Phoebe and Poppy were sitting in my bed. I almost had an heart attack when I opened my eyes. "Gosh you two!" I snapped at them and sat up "Do you have to scare me like that?!" "Sorry, but I couldn't wait to tell you about my date with Jonah after all of you just left us hanging" Phoebe said. "Sorry about that" I immediately said. "Don't be! Thank you! I officially have a boyfriend now!" She said and I hugged her "That's amazing!" I said and we let go of each other. "Thank you so much Promise, I was about to give up" Poppy said and Phoebe looked at her "You did nothing to help me!"

"Whatever you say" Poppy said and got up "I'm hungry" She said. "Me too" I said and got up as well. The three of us went downstairs to get some breakfast and sat down at the dinner table. "So.. You and Jake?" Poppy asked curious. "You and Mike?" I asked and she rolled her eyes "I asked you first!" "We're official, if that's what you want to hear" I told her "Now you and Mike" I said and she sighed "He's a piece of work, but I convinced him to go on a second date with me" She said and I looked at her surprised. "Wow... I never knew Mike was that much work" I told her  laughing.

"Do you know why?" Poppy asked. "I think because he is constantly moving, but Aunt Reese refused to get him homeschooled" I told her "He never had real friends and he doesn't open up to many people. I'm actually surprised" I told her and she looked at me. "You better shut up, before her catch phrase becomes 'Shut up Promise'!" Phoebe said to me and I nod and just ate.

"His Hanna coming over later?" I asked to change the topic. "I think so, well if she can stay away from Holbrook for a while" Poppy said and we laughed. "Hey, I heard that!" Hanna said as she entered the kitchen "I might be in love, but that doesn't keep me from my best friends, who are all taken now" She said and sat down next to Poppy. "Not yet, but we got a second date" Poppy said, taking her empty plate and put it into the dishwasher.

"How are things going with you and Jake?" Hanna asked, looking at me. "Well, he took me to the Buckingham Palace, then to Big Ben and on the way there we shared our first kiss and the kissing didn't stop there" I said laughing "And then we went onto the London Eye"

"Yeah, Jake's a kisser" Poppy said laughing, leaning against the counter. "I'm guessing it was super romantic" Hanna said and I think I blushed a little. "How about we go upstairs and watch some movie?" Phoebe asked and we all agreed. "But let me change first" I said and they nod. I went back to our room, grabbed some clothes and went to change in the bathroom. I also brushed my hair and pulled them into a bun, before going back to the bed room.

"So, what are we watching?" I asked, sitting down next to Phoebe. "Some reality show Hanna chose" Poppy said, turning it on on Netflix.

After a while I got up "Let's go Pheebs, we're getting some snacks" I said and we hurried down the stairs. "You were sick of that show, weren't you?" She asked and I nod "Yes!" "I totally agree with you" She said and laughed. Suddenly my phone beeped. I took it out and looked onto the display "My mom wants to skype" I said and grabbed my laptop from the couch table on the placed it on the dinner table. "You wanna be alone?" Phoebe asked and I grabbed her wrist "You better stay here" I said and she sat down next to me and I called my mom.

"Hey mom" I waved into the camera. "Hey Mrs. Harding" Phoebe said and waved as well. "Hey Sweetie. And you must be Phoebe" She said and I nod. "How are you?" Mom asked. "I'm great. How are you? And dad? And Caleb?" I asked. "They are all great. Evie and Ronnie miss you as well" She said. "Yeah, they have been calling, but it was in the middle of the night" I told her "Also I don't feel like talking to them right now" I told her and she immediately knew what I was talking about.

"We have been talking to Monica" She said and I sighed "Talking to her isn't enough. Besides I gotta go, we're watching a movie upstairs and Poppy and Hanna are waiting for us" I lied. "Oh okay, I'll talk to you another time" She said and I hung up. "Let's get back to them" I said and closed my laptop.
