"We're moving" My uncle Toby announced. "Moving where?" My mom asked. "Ellis Springs. Tristan wants to be closer to her dad again and we talked about it with Teela and she was okay with it" He continued. "It's true. I lived in Morrison Creek my entire life. I want to see things I haven't seen yet and maybe Canada is the right place for that" She said. "Why didn't you tell me?" Skylar asked. Those two were pretty close. "I didn't want you to tell anyone and I know you couldn't have kept quiet" She told her. "True" Skylar agreed.
"When does the journey start?" My mom asked. "Next week, when summer break begins. We didn't want to rip Teela out of her enviorment in the middle of the school year" He explained, then aunt Tristan took over "We were talking about it for a really long time, but now my father has gotten sick and I want and need to be there for him" She said. "I totally get it Tris. I probably would do the same, if things were different" She said and gave her sister-in-law a warm smile.
"Since you guys are already talking about it" Uncle Cody started "I'm being transferred to Madison in Wisconsin. We have to move there at the begin of summer break" "What?!" Mom asked shocked "I'm losing two brother's in one week?! Are you kidding me?!" She asked. "Liv, we are still in the country and not out of the world!" Cody said.
"But you are moving without me?! How could you?" Jordan suddenly started. "You knew about it and you are in college. You can take care of yourself!" Aunt Tara said and now I had to laugh. They looked at me and I pretty fast stopped again "Sorry" I apologized.
The dinner went on eventless, until the doorbell rang.
OLIVIA'S PoV
"I'll go" I said and went to the front door and opened it. In front of it were three familiar faces. "What are you doing here?" I asked shocked and surprised. "I invited them!" Promise said, as she appeared behind me "They are family!" She said and I sighed. I knew she was right, but it was still a shock seeing them here. Especially Fabian.
I walked aside and the three Fitzgeralds walked passed me. Tiffany gave me a short smile, while Fabian didn't even look at me. I closed the door and followed them into the dining room. "Ehm, you remember Tiffany and Fabian, right?" I asked and all eyes were on the three of us. Well, not the eyes of the kids, but only because they didn't live through the story or at least didn't remember it.
Maia looked at me, then at Fabian and back at me. You had no idea how awkward this was for us. "Are you going to let them stand there all day?" Promise broke the awkward silence. "Of course not. Take a seat" I said and sat down on my chair, while Tiffany sat down opposite me and Fabian sat down next to her. Unfortunately he was also sitting next to Maia.
The dinner could literally not get more awkward.
After eating, Ryder and Dustin pulled Maia and I to the living room, where Fabian and Tiffany were sitting on the couch. They made us sit down and closed all the door's to the room. "You guys have to talk it out! Remember 17 years ago? The three of you have been the best friends and now you can't even talk to each other!" Ryder said. "And it doesn't have to be this way! If Liv and I could talk everything out, so can the three of you!" Tiffany said. "And you are not leaving this room, until you talked it out!" Dustin said and the three of them left the room.
"This is ridiculous!" Maia said, got up and wanted to open door, just to find it locked. "DUSTIN!" She yelled. "I know my wife! You are staying in there and make up!" I could hear my brother's voice from the outside of the door. Maia groaned and sat down beside me.
"So..." I started "Where exactly did we go wrong?" I asked them to break this again awkward silence. "I think it was when she dumped me because of my parents or when you dumped me because of Ryder" Fabian said. "I'm sorry for that. I really am. I should have never let you kiss me or get involved with you again. I was hurt and vulnerable because of the break up with Ryder. He had cheated on me, which wasn't his fault in the end, but I didn't know that back then" I told him.
"And you? Why did you dump me? I never understood why you wouldn't fight" Fabian asked and Maia sighed "Just look at me. I was never anything special. I had an unstable home, while you had an entire mansion. You had a sister and a nephew, while I only had Liv. Not that I wasn't thankful for her, but what I wanted was a family that got my back. And then Eliza-" She said, but Fabian interrupted her "Eliza what?!"
"She told me that you deserve better than me. That you could have anyone and she didn't get how you could fall for girls like me and Olivia. She told me to my face that I wasn't good enough for you. I tried to ignore it, but her words repeated in my head over and over again until I just had to pull the plug. I had to break up with you, because it was making me crazy. I could have never given you, what you wanted" She said close to tears.
"That isn't true Maia! You gave me everything I always wanted. I didn't care about your unstable home. I couldn't care less. For godness sake, I married Tiffany Ridgewood! If someone would have told me that all this time ago I would have thought that they have lost it! Back then I would have said, if someone would have asked me, who I would end up marrying, my answer would have been Olivia Copeland or Maia Sharp" He said and I smiled. "I know Liv's answer has always been Ryder Harding, but I didn't want to see it. Until you came Maia. To be honest, I even thought about proposing to you" He suddenly confessed.
It felt weird to hear him say that. After all Maia was married to my brother and he was married to my sister.
"But I guess something bigger than us wanted us to stay in each other's lives. Otherwise you wouldn't be Maia Copeland today or you wouldn't have a wife named Tiffany Ridgewood, Fitzgerald now. Promise wouldn't have come home with Keeley. We were meant to be friends and I don't know about you, but I would love to be friends again. Like the good old times" I said.
"I kinda miss them too" Maia said and the two of us looked at Fabian. "I misse them too" He said and we laughed. "So, do you have any other children than Keeley?" Maia asked him. "No, she's my only kid. You?" He asked. "Dustin and I have a daughter. Miriam" She told him proud. "Was it the one with the long brown curly hair?" He asked and Maia nod "She looks so much like you" He said "And you Liv?" "Well, you obviously met Promise and then there would be Cale. The little boy with blonde hair and blue eyes" I told him.
It actually was kind of like it used to be, just that we were now talking about our children and instead of talking about our boy/girl dramas, we were talking about the most annoying things are husbands/wife were doing.
