BONDS OF DESTINY
- IV -

Oh, No!

I recognize that scent! my mind screamed at me and I knew danger had just walked in.

'Finally!' My wolf spoke joyfully jumping around.

Hell no, over my dead body!

I quickly composed myself and noticed how Chase and Riley had also gotten to their feet as they noticed Ryder wasn't alone. Riley wiping his mouth with his sleeve quickly gulping down his bite.

"What the—" Chase started but trailed off as one of the strangers opened his mouth though he was no stranger.

Not to me.

"Ma--" He growled instantly as he noticed me, but I cut him off.

"Don't you dare!" I yelled at him, feeling my hands clench into fists, my nails digging into my palms.

"I know you" he said his eyes flickering with recognition as the process was slowly triggered in his mind. His frown changing into amusement and wonder as he looked at me.

That was how it used to be. The minute we laid eyes on each other our previous lives would come to the surface reminding us of the unbreakable bond making us as my wolf called, Soul Mates.

Goddess, I hated that word.

I sighed heavily though I continued to glare at the intimidating presence before me. It was always the same but this time I would not allow it to be.

No matter the attraction.

I felt Chase and Riley get in position behind me. They clearly knew something was up.

"I know you too, but it doesn't mean I want to get to know you" I said my voice rigorous and confident.

Yes, he was handsome, hot and every bit as fit as his previous forms. His whole presence lured me in. My wolf barking happily in my head but I managed to shut her off. This time I wasn't going to give in to my wolf and destiny. I would not give in. I wanted to create my own destiny.

"You are my mate!" He said both bewildered but also annoyed. A shade of darkness overtook his eyes as he searched my face.

I know he heard me groan though I tried to keep it internally but at least I managed not to roll my eyes at him.

"I told you not to say that" I sneered at him and folded my arms over my chest.

"You are—" I cut him off again.

"Through centuries, yes I know. I already remember" everything, my mind added though I kept that on the down low. I could not tell him I've known for a while. Especially while the others could hear it.
