What Ryder told me turned out to be true. Argent really did keep his distance. I had not seen him when I got home and even though the weekend had come around there was still no sign of him. What was even worse though, was the fact that it stung in my heart by his absence.

"You okay?" Ally said as she sat beside me as I stared down at the guys practicing though once again I was not really paying attention.

"I'm fine," I answered indifferently and shifted my position so my feet were placed on the seats in front of me and leaned forward, my elbows steadying on my thighs so my head could rest in my hands.

"No you aren't, but I'm gonna let it slide for now," she said knowingly and I felt her hand pat me lightly on the back. We sat in silence for a while just staring at the guys while they were running suicides or practicing tackles.

"What's with Chase?" Ally wondered after a while, her eyes and nose scrunched up in confusion as she stared down the field.

I shifted my gaze roaming for Chase. He was in the middle of a drill with the blocking sleds. Usually, he would have it pushed several feet down the field by now, but right now it seemed like his head wasn't in it and I straightened up in my seat.

I watched the assistant coach lean towards him singling him out. Though I could not hear what they were talking about I could sense by their postures that they were in some kind of argument. Soon Riley ran up along the field as well pulling his brother away from the coach. Riley grabbed a hold of his shirt and pushed him as it was like Chase was about to walk up to the coach again. Then Chase took off his helmet and threw it aside before walking towards the side of the field.

"Come on," I said to Ally and we made our way down to the field and I headed straight for Chase.

"What the hell is going on?" I asked the minute I walked up to him.

"It's nothing," he spoke quickly but sourly and squirted water into his mouth. His hair was sticking to his forehead due to sweat and his eyes were glinting with annoyance.

I looked backwards at Ally and she sensed my plead and hung back and I pulled on Chase's shirt making him follow me into the hallway towards the locker rooms.

"Spit it out," I demanded as I let go of him and pushed him slightly up against the wall so he could not escape me.

"Oh, so I have to tell you but you don't have to tell me?" He retorted and looked away from me.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I enquired, my brows raised with confusion.

"Like you don't know," he snapped and glared at me.

I scrunched my nose as I realized what he was referring to, my eyes searching his. To come think of it Chase and I hadn't really talked since the small argument last week which was something I should have noticed, but my mind had been too clouded with thoughts of Argent. Was even his absence getting the best of me too?
