BONDS OF DESTINY - IX -
It was my free period, but instead of hanging out with the others I found a secluded area and sat down pulling out my notepad. After having realized my scribbles weren't just nonsense but actual drawings and moreover learning that they were somehow real, I had to know what else I had been doodling. Turning through old pages with absolutely nothing interesting, small drawings appeared getting bigger and bigger the more pages I turned. Flicking through them I came to the conclusion that it started just around the same time as the memories. My memories. I stopped at a page where a fully detailed waterfall was drawn out and I instantly recalled an ancient memory...
I was staggering through the woods. Nothing was like it used to be. The view was different and more unfocussed, the sounds were high but indistinctive which clouded my mind with frustration as I could not make out the different tunes. I fell to my knees for who knows how many times, my hands reaching out to cushion the fall. It was ridiculous how uncoordinated I was in this form. How I longed to get back to my usual furry form. I wiped my hands in the thin fabric, not caring the white had become grim due to dirt and sweat and got to my feet again before stumbling forward.
I used to run and hunt in these woods but now everything was alien to me. I didn't know how long I had been wandering through the trees: Living on the few edible berries I could find, wishing I could go hunt a deer to get my fill, but it was not an option in this form.
Thirst was clawing at my throat as I hadn't got any in a while. Whenever I had reached a stream I had gulped down as much as I possibly could before walking further. Right now, I regretted bitterly I ever left the last place.
Why was I even moving? What was I walking towards? I hadn't seen anyone or anything in days that could help me, and if I had who would want to help me anyway? I was hideous in this form. My limbs were bare and fragile while weird blue and yellow spots erupted from time to time. Looking down at my knees I was sporting one again right now. A small trail of blood ran down my leg, but it quickly stopped and the wound closed up again.
I bumped down on a log as tiredness took over once again and I felt lightheaded. I needed to rest. Just for a few minutes, then I would be on my way again.
Artemis. I had to find her. She would help me. I knew it. She would help me get back into my wolf form. I was certain of it.
Finding the strength and determination, I got back up taking a deep breath before I placed one foot in front of the other again.
I had no idea how much time had gone by but still there had been nothing new, only trees and birds flying around in the tree tops. The sun, however had vanished leaving an eerie atmosphere in its wake.
Wrapping my arms tightly around myself in attempt to keep the cold out. My breath coming out visibly in small huffs and it did not take long before I started shivering. How I missed my wolf form.
