BONDS OF DESTINY - XV -
"Get in the car, Skye." Argent was standing beside the car, the door open for me to get in, but I refused to move, my hands clenched and my heart still pumping like crazy.
"What was that?" I repeated my question, staring at him.
"Get in the fucking car, Skye," he cursed at me. Obviously this matter was not up for discussion, but I wouldn't let the topic go. I needed to know about what I had seen and this was obviously not Argent's first time. He was taking it all way too calmly.
"I'm not getting in that car until you tell me what that was back there," I stated firmly and crossed my arms in front of my chest and I made my stance wider as if he wanted to remove me by force.
He looked away, obviously choosing not to answer me and grabbed his hoodie and pulled it over his head.
"That person whoever it was, didn't die, Argent. He...he..." I trailed off as I couldn't comprehend where my mind was taking me.
"Trust me the person is as good as dead," Argent snarled, his voice low.
"What?" I asked, but he merely shook his head which only added to my frustration and I walked towards him.
"Tell me."
"Get in the car."
"Not until you tell me. I need to know the truth."
"You don't need to know anything." His eyes cold as he looked at me.
"I have to know! I am commander of my pack warriors. I'm here on orders to help protect this territory. I have the right to know."
"Not about this. This doesn't have anything to do with you. Now get in the car before I make you," he swore, his face expressionless and I took another step towards him so we were now standing a few inches apart.
"Try to make me get in the car and I'll have to punch the answer out of you," I drawled with determination ringing in every word.
"God, don't you know I'm trying to protect you here?" He yelled frustrated and flung out his arms.
"I don't need protection, I need the truth," I stated firmly and raised my head stubbornly. I wouldn't let myself get fazed with how he was towering over me.
"This... It would rattle you to the core," he started slowly, his eyes still cold, his chest rising as he was preparing himself for a fight.
"Try me," I challenged him.
"For fuck sake," Argent spat and looked away briefly before I saw determination written all over his face, and before I could blink he scooped me up in his arms roughly putting my down in the passenger's seat and by reflex I reacted by slapping him across the face, his eyes becoming dark and dangerous.
