The next day, Pete's Mom took Patrick to Dr Urie.
That was at 9 in the morning. It was now 7 at night and Patrick had not come home yet.
"Where are they?" Pete asked his Dad.
"They're at Dr Urie's." Pete's father responded half-heartedly, after all, this was probably the 26th time Pete had asked today.
"But they've been there all day!"
"Mmmm." He murmured.
Pete frowned. "When are they going to be home?"
"I don't know Pete."
Pete ran to the home phone and dialed the number of Dr Urie, which was convenietely located in the list of phone numbers next to the phone.
"Hello?"
"It's Pete! Is Mom and Patrick still there?"
Dr Urie paused. "Yes. Bye Pete."
"When are they gonna be home?"
"Later. Now, I have to go."
Pete could hear a lot of background noise. Background noise that sounded a lot like screaming.
"A-Are they okay?"
"Yes, Pete. Go help your Dad with the housework and they'll be home later."
Dr Urie hung up.
Pete frowned. "Dad! I think Dr Urie is hurting Mom and Patrick!"
"What?" Pete's Dad groaned.
"I heard all these screams from the background when I called him!"
Pete's Dad sighed. "Come here Pete."
He reluctantly walked over.
"Nobody is hurting Patrick, or Mom. You know how sometimes when you get really sad and mad, you just want to scream and yell?"
Pete nodded uncertainly.
"Well, that's what's going on. They'll be home later. Go put your pyjama's on, and then it's bedtime."
"I'm not going to bed until they get home."
Pete's Dad sighed. "Well, go get ready for when they get here."
