Babysitting with Gavin

It'd been about three months since I'd started at Rooster Teeth and I, now, was a big part of the animation team. Monty and Miles would argue with me saying I was one of the best animators here and I would refuse to take their compliment.

Griffon was getting ready for a date that Geoff asked her out on, and I insisted that they went out for a night. I told them to get a hotel room for a night and just get away, and that I would watch Millie. Millie liked me from time to time. Some days she wouldn't leave me alone, and others she would hate me. Geoff always got mad at her on her off days. I didn't mind, I knew she was a child and having someone show up abruptly at your house claiming she's your aunt, probably is hard to accept.

I was sitting on the couch next to Millie who was preoccupied by Gavin playing games.

"Hey! We're leaving!" Griffon smiled. Millie shot up and ran into her moms arms.

"Bye! Have fun." She smiled, hugging Griffon. Geoff smiled and ruffled Millie's hair as she moved into his arms.

"We'll see you guys tomorrow. Millie needs to be in bed by 9." Geoff looked between Gavin and I. "Her friends mom will be by at 8 to take her to school. I've left her info on the counter. Millie needs to be up at 7 to get ready." Geoff looked at me, smiling. "We'll be back in enough time to pick her up from school." He took Griffons hands.

"Love you!" Millie called and waved as her parents left. She sat back and watched Gavin play. He offered her a remote and she took it willingly. Gavin was playing Halo and went into multiplier just so she could play too. I smiled and walked into the kitchen. I decided to make mac and cheese for all 3 of us, since I didn't really know how to cook.

When I was done, I walked into the living room with two plates. I set one down in front of Gavin and one in front of Millie.

"Thank you, Gabs!" She smiled up at me. I chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"That damned nickname." I smiled back. I walked back into the kitchen to grab my bowl, walking back into the living room.

"What nickname?" Gavin asked, switching over to netflix.

"Gabs." I pouted and he chuckled. "What??" I huffed at him.

"Nothing. I think it's cute, if that helps any." We chuckled as he handed Millie the controller to pick what she wanted. She picked Madagascar. Millie was between us two and she began becoming sleepy around 8:30. Millie was leaning on me, as I had an arm wrapped around her. Soon, a soft snoring came from my side. Knowing I was too weak to pick her up, I looked over at Gavin. He locked eyes with me. I'd noticed how pretty his eyes were before, but i'd never seen them in this dim light. Despite the lack of light, they glinted a beautiful green color. It was almost emerald in this light.

Gavin stood up, picking her up and carrying to her room. He set her inside her bed and closed the door after letting Arrow in. I took this opportunity to change into my pajamas, which were just shorts and a big sweatshirt. I walked downstairs and saw that Gavin was no where to be found. I sat back down on the couch and switched the movie to Insidious.

"A pretty lady shouldn't be watching a scary movie alone." I heard a voice, scaring me, as I was just getting into the movie. I turned around to be faced with Gavin.

"Oh you god damn asshole!" I said, reaching over the couch to punch him in the arm.

"Well, don't watch scary movies by yourself!" He laughed, clutching his arm. He moved around to sit next to me on the couch.

"Fuck off." I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest. "It's not even that scary." I huffed.

"Theen why'd you jump?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, shut your mouth!" I rolled my eyes and threw a pillow at him. He laughed as he caught it and threw it back. I whined and hit it to the floor. He smiled at me, I frowned and looked back at the TV. About half way through the movie, Gavin got up scaring me.

"Want anything to eat or drink?" He asked, looking down at me. I shook my head and turned my attention back to the movie.

"Actually, can you get me a beer?" I called, quiet enough that Millie wouldn't wake up, but loud enough Gavin could hear. He walked back and handed me a beer. I thanked him, as he sat back down. His arm was on the couch, almost like an invitation for me to go cuddle him. I ignored this, knowing he had a girlfriend.

Towards the end of the movie, I began to grow tired. Gavin was still sitting beside me and I sighed to myself. I closed my eyes, and fell asleep.

Gavin's POV

I felt a small body press up against mine, I jumped slightly. I realized that Gabi had fallen asleep, and had fallen in my direction. I chuckled and tried to wake her up. I got up, making sure I didn't wake her up. I lifted her up, holding her bridal style, up to her room. I opened the door and set her down in her bed. I slipped my arms from under her and pulled her sheets over her. I smiled down at her as she curled into a ball on her side, burying her face in her hands.

"Goodnight Gabi." I spoke quietly, I closed her door after turning off the lights. I walked downstairs, and tossed her empty beer can away. I sat down on the couch, ready to binge watch some Breaking Bad. I felt a small vibration from inside the couch, I reached my hand in there and I pulled Gabi's phone from there. I got up, turning off the xbox and walked back up to her room.

I plugged in her phone, and walked back out, closing the door. I walked into my room, falling into my bed with a thud and groan. I sighed as I stared at my ceiling fan.

Meg had broken up with me when Gabi had joined Rooster teeth, though there's no reason between those events. Her and I had been getting into a lot of fights and I guess she just got sick of it, instead of wanting to fix it. I sighed as I sat up. I got up and changed into my pajama bottoms, laying back in my bed.

I scrolled through twitter, until I became tired. I locked my phone, putting it on my nightstand and shortly, fell asleep.
