Rachel's POV:
"No no no. Salt won't make any difference. We need baking soda instead. Do you have any?"I thought about it for a second.
"No I don't think so. I've never seen any baking soda box in the kitchen," I grabbed my phone and unplugged it from the charger that was connected to the outlet behind my nightstand, "I can go buy some though."
"Ill come with," Kaiden tucked his phone in his pocket as he followed me out the door.
We made our way down the stairs. Ethan had left earlier that night to make his way to Arizona. He had plans to go visit our cousins for some football game that was taking place in their hometown. Of course, he didn't leave willingly, knowing he's be leaving me alone with a boy.
"We can just take my car," Kaiden dangled the car keys with his fingers.
I nodded as we made our way out of the house, locking the door behind us. We got into Kaiden's car and drove away from my house.
"Okay so we need at least 2 small boxes of baking soda and we might as well buy the sodas there," Kaiden began to list the materials we needed out loud.
"We need to buy more plastic cups if we're doing the soda experiment," I spoke as I wrote down the materials in my notes app.
We arrived to the convenient store in just a matter of minutes. Kaiden parked the car and turned the engine off. We made our way out of Kaiden's car and into the store.
"Okay you get the sodas, I'll get the baking sodas and cups," I instructed.
Kaiden nodded and we both went our separate ways.
"Cups... check," I whispered to myself as I grabbed the pack of plastic cups off the shelf.
I walked over to the baking aisle of the store and searched for baking soda. As I attempted to reach the baking soda from the top shelf, a muscular arm reached out from behind me and grabbed it.
I turned behind me to see who it was.
"Here you go," the boy smiled at me.
"Thanks," I smiled politely.
The boy standing inches away from me began to chuckle with his cheeky smile.
"You don't recognize me do you?"
I studied his facial details. His strong jawline and well defined cheekbones looked familiar. His hair was styled back, but a couple of strands seemed to escape onto his face.
"Daniel?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
Daniel chuckled at me before nodding.
"Oh my god you look so different," I spoke in astonishment, "I haven't seen you in almost two years."
"Yea well a lot changes in two years," he gave me a smirk before licking his lips, "you look amazing."
I blushed a little at his compliment. He still had that affect on me.
Before I could thank him, my phone began to ring. I took my phone out of my pocket and accepted the call.
"Hello?"
"Where are you?" Kaiden replied.
"In the baking aisle," I hesitated as I looked around for the aisle number.
