Rachel's POV:
I woke up slightly cold, pulling the blanket higher with my left hand. My right hand was intertwined with Kaiden's fingers, his arm around me. I turned onto my right side and looked at him. He was sound asleep. I stared at him as he slept. I studied the way his lips were slightly parted, the way his eyelashes looked slightly curled.I leaned in and pecked his forehead before moving his arm from my waist and turning to get out of the bed.
Suddenly Kaiden wrapped his arm around me again.
"Don't go," he mumbled, keeping his eyes shut while pulling my half naked body closer to his.
"I have to," I said, sitting up and trying to loosen his arm.
He wouldn't budge.
"Why?"
"Because if my parents don't kill me my brothers will."
Kaiden let out an 'mmhmm' and pulled me closer to him.
"Kaiden," I groaned.
"Stay here with me," he said, opening his eyes and looking at me.
"I can't," I rebutted.
"Yes you can," he said.
He sat up and brought my face to his with both of his hands.
"Please," he said, looking directly into my eyes.
I playfully placed my hands on him, copying what he was doing.
"Fine," I said.
He chuckled before giving me a quick peck. He then went back to his original position laying down and pulled me down into his arms. I giggled as I got comfortable.
"Goodnight sweetheart," he said.
"It's morning."
"Shhh."
I giggled quietly as he fell asleep. I tried to do the same. I was still tired anyways.
_______________________________I woke up to an empty bed. I grabbed my phone from the floor and checked the time. The screen read 3:34 PM. I set it on the nightstand and sat up, yawning and stretching. I got out of bed and searched for my clothes.
"Crap," I groaned when I couldn't find them.
I noticed a shirt on the floor next to the other side of the bed. I picked it up and put it on. The shirt reached my mid thigh. As I was about to walk to the bedroom door, it opened to reveal a naked Kaiden with a towel wrapped around his torso.
"Woah," I said, blocking my eyes.
"Sweetheart I think we're wayyyy past that," he said laughing.
He quickly changed into some sweats but not shirt. My hands were still covering my eyes. I don't know why I did that, it was just a reflex.
He walked up to me and took my hands down. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. He planted a kiss on my lips.
"You can take a shower here if you want," he said.
As I searched for my clothes, I heard the front door open. From the corner of my eye, noticed Kaiden froze in place.
"Kaiden," I heard Stephanie's voice shout.
"Shit," Kaiden muttered.
He grabbed my wrist and slightly guided me into the closet.
"What are you doing," I fought him.
"Look, just stay in the closet. She can't know you're here," he told me.
He shut the door before I could say anything and ran down the steps.
What the hell?
I grabbed my clothes from the floor and put them on quickly. I opened the window and took a look down. It wasn't that high of a jump. I crawled out of it and jumped down onto the grass. When I landed, I strained my ankle once again. I felt the familiar pain worsen as I started running down the block and to my house.
Once I get back home, I walked over to my window and climbed up into my room. I landed with a thud and groaned in pain. I limped over to my door and unlocked it. I walked down the stairs, trying hard not to look like I was in any sort of pain and make the least amount of noise.
Just as I got to the last step, Ethan's voice startled me from behind.
"Where'd you go yesterday?" he said from the top of the stairs.
"Nowhere," I said, not bothering to look back.
"I asked you a question Rach," he said, trying to sound demanding.
"And I gave you an answer Ethan."
I turned around and faced him as he jogged down the stairs after me. His hair was dripping onto his shirt so he must've just gotten out of the shower.
"Well it's the wrong answer so try again," he pushed.
"Doesn't matter," I said, turning to walk away.
He tried to grab my arm like he used to do when I was younger but I knew better. I quickly moved to the side to dodge him and walked to the couch. When I sat down, he sat down next to me.
"Why are you limping?" he asked.
"Because I got hurt," I said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Where'd you go last night?" he asked again.
"Don't worry about it," I said.
"Okay fine if you still want to act like a fucking baby, be my guest," he said and got up.
I watched him walk away and groaned. I'd only been there for a couple of seconds and already didn't want to stay any longer. I limped my way back up the stairs and into the bathroom. Before I did anything, I needed a shower.
I got undressed and practically jumped into the shower. I made sure to wash my hair well and clean my entire body to the max. I felt dirty and sick and I just wanted to scrub that feeling off.
After I showered, I shut off the water and grabbed my towel. I wrapped it around myself and made my way to my bedroom. I looked through my clothes and settled on some simple dark blue jeans and a plain white shirt with a sleeping panda smack in the middle. I grabbed my converse and grabbed a duffle bag.
I started packing a bunch of clothes into it. Once I filled up the duffle bag, I slightly ran down the stairs, making sure Ethan couldn't spot me. Once I was sure he was nowhere near the front door, I quickly got out of the house. When I got outside, I noticed Logan getting out of his car a couple of houses down. He took the cigarette out of his mouth and tossed it to the side.
"Shit," I said, looking for somewhere to hide.
I quickly ran, more like waddled, to the side of my house, hiding against the wall. I waited for Logan to walk up to the front door and go inside. Once he finally did, I made sure to get the hell out of sight. I walked for what felt like an hour before I got to Jade's house.
I walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell. I left my phone back at my house because I didn't want Ethan or Logan calling me nonstop. It took a couple of seconds before Jade answered the door.
"Rach oh my gosh," she said surprised, "what's going on?"
She looked back and forth between me and my duffle bag.
"Can I stay here for a while?" I asked.
"Of course," she moved to the side to let me in, "Why didn't you call or something?"
"Forgot my phone at home," I said.
"Is everything okay?" she asked.
"Psht, you have no idea."
"Well come on, you can go set your stuff down in my room," she said and we made our way to her bedroom.
