Rachel's POV:
"We need this wedding to come sooner rather than later," Victor went off."How soon?" Thomas asked, leaning forward in his seat.
"As soon as possible," Victor tapped his fingers together.
"This is crazy," I cried to Logan quietly as we listened from behind the door.
"Everything's crazy once Victor enters your life Rach. This is just the beginning."
"I don't want to marry Thomas," I pouted, "I'm not even a legal adult yet, how am I supposed to a married high school student?"
"I guess you'll be the first," Logan tried to lighten the mood.
He noticed that my expression didn't change, taking the smile away from his face.
"Look, don't think about it too much. Victor agreed to let you go back to school tomorrow. Focus on that for now," Logan placed a hand on my shoulder.
I gave a big sigh as Logan wrapped an arm around me, comforting me.
"Great," Victor shouted, "The date is set for next Wednesday."
My eyes went wide. Today was Wednesday. Reality came over me, sinking in fast. In exactly one week, I am going to be marrying this stranger.
I stood up from the floor and walked down the halls and to my room. Logan called out behind me but I ignored him. My breathing began grow heavy and the world around me was spinning.
"This can't be happening," I tugged my hair.
I opened the door to my room, which Victor had removed the chains from. I shut the door behind me after entering and plopped on my bed. I brought my knees to my chest and buried my face in them. I began to cry, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop. The rest of the night was spent weeping silently.
_______________________________The banging on my door made me jump up in my bed, my heart beating fast. I placed my right hand on my heart as I tried to calm down. I barely got any sleep last night.
I slipped out of bed and walked to the door, opening it. Logan stood in front of the door, impatiently tapping his foot.
"Come on we have to go," he rushed.
"Go where?" I rubbed my eyes.
"Home."
I titled my head in confusion as he pulled my arm and brought me down the halls to the front entrance of the safe house.
"Wait Logan wait!" I tried to stop him but he was too strong and fast, "Am I even allowed to leave?"
"You are going to school aren't you?"
He brought me out of the building, my bare feet stepping on tiny pebbles from the pavement. The sun hit my eyes immediately, blinding me for a split second. Lately I've been having a hard time adjusting to the sun after spending all that time inside the dully lighted safe house.
The weather was slightly windy, so the fact that I was in a pair of shorts and a spaghetti strap didn't help keep me warm at all.
"I haven't even brushed my teeth Logan," I cried out as we arrived at his car.
"It doesn't matter," he replied as he unlocked the car.
I entered the car as Logan entered the driver's seat. We sped off in a direction I was unfamiliar with. I rested my head against the window, shutting my eyes.
